My #1 song on Spotify Wrapped was the theme from Requiem for a Dream. Some would call this a cry for help.

(I reread Crime and Punishment earlier in the year and needed mood music, accounting for most of this. That book takes a minute.)

I watched the Banshee movie you told me to watch. It wasn’t for me. I did get a good laugh when the dog ran off with the clippers.

Dammit. Obviously it was a pretty blind recommendation since I can’t remember us discussing movies before, but as someone who strives to be an elite recommender, every miss hurts.

I'm watching the banshee TV series right now

TV is for morons. Waste your life watching old movies and reading banned books.

By the way, it was truly difficult to get any help from ChatGPT this time around when I tried to come up with a thread title.

Quote:
User
What is a synonym for a party, a celebration, or a gathering that starts with D?

ChatGPT
How about a "festivity" or a "bash"?

User
Starts with the letter D.

ChatGPT
Ah, my mistake! How about a "delight" or a "doo"?

User
Any others?

ChatGPT
Certainly! You could use "soirée" or "function" as well.

User
Those don’t start with D.

ChatGPT
Oops, my apologies for the oversight! How about "gala" or "fête"?

User
Those don’t either.

ChatGPT
My bad! Let's try "gathering" or "get-together."

User
You’re completely disregarding the D part.

ChatGPT
I'm on a bit of a synonym stumble, aren't I? My apologies. How about a "ding-dong" or a "do"?

Maybe take a D tour on your way to ChatGPT in January?

How about a party or a celebration?

Yes.

A couple coworkers and I used to regularly go out to lunch together. As soon as we got outside, all three of us would stop and wait for me to sneeze.

A couple emails just now. One from chase telling me they're worried about a $481 debit, and another from the IRS telling me that I'm due a $976 rebate.

I'm sure the fact that the domains are .de and .nz, respectively, is just an efficiency thing. I sure am glad that people around the world are looking out for me financially.

Yes, the IRS is so worried about my refund that they send notices to two different emails just encase I don't check one.

I used to get a chuckle out of the occasional scam email that escaped my spam filter. Thinking, how dumb you’d have to be to get pulled in by one.

Then someone pointed out the genius of them to me that went right over my head.

They are written poorly on purpose to weed out the semi-literate to avoid wasting time.

Criminals amaze me sometimes.

On the subject of spam, when a call comes from a number I don't recognize, I immediately swipe it away.

I wonder if that gives spammers the information that it's a live number (as opposed to just letting it ring until the phone hangs up automatically).

'Sun-sneeze' is a term I've used with GCDS from the time he was 3 to present.

I’ve had it my whole life. I thought everyone sneezed from the sun until not that long ago.

It affects roughly 10% of people. It’s also known as Achoo syndrome.

Anytime I leave a movie theater and step outside I’m amazing in like 10 seconds.

I'm amazing all of the time. Not just when I leave a movie theater.

Oops! *sneezing

You know what's really good? When a movie set in the past has a character make some sort of declaration or prediction that the entire audience, down to the very dumbest member of it, knows turned out to be wrong. Hilarious!

****ing hell.
