The thing is is that there seems to be a rather strong correlation between a bad habit like soda drinking and being an uneducated human being that doesnt give a **** about the effects they have on their own body let alone what their effects may be on the universe around them.

If anything you should be expecting this op especially with the demographic that frequents such places. Step up your human info game noob.....

I used to do this as a child but I also used to steal. Right now I try to avoid sugar/fast food as much as possible but hey every now and then.....

Yeah, America has this concept of thinking 1200 calories of food and 600 calories of soda is a normal meal.

drinking soda isnt a bad habit anymore than having a beer is a bad habit.

Beer is worse, but I'll take that every time. I think I've had 2 cans of soda in the last 25 years. Getting ready to pop open a DirtWolf Double IPA here in a bit. Has 95/100 BA score; we'll see...

If you drink 3-4 beers with every meal then that's probably not a great habit either, agreed.

that would be an awesome habit

This is why I've lost 15 lbs over the past 2 months. Mom is sick so we've given up restaurants for the most part and, simply by eating at home and being completely happy w/ it, the weight is simply dropping off.

I guess there actually are people who need signs like this...

You do realize you're just flat-out stealing, right?
Yes, that is what I'm talking about, and I've never seen a sign like that at Panera. If an employee told me I couldn't do it, I would probably stop.
FWIW, I only drink iced tea. Does this actually cost the restaurant much more than water? Tea bags in bulk cost less than a penny each.

How about you steal all the tea you want but pay some of the rent on the lot or a piece of an employees wage? The loss on the tea is the price of the tea they charge to customers, not the wholesale cost. Come on, man.

I usually have a few empty Panera cups at my home or office. If I know I am going to Panera straight from there, I will grab one before I leave if I remember. In cases of an "impromptu" stop, I buy a new cup.

I don't sneak it in, I just walk in with an empty cup...it's not like Panera has people monitoring the doors. Though occassionally, I will walk in with a full cup of iced tea from home or my office.

I pay a lot of money to Panera. It's not like I am walking in, refilling a cup, and walking out. I am usually paying at least $10-$13 for lunch there even when I don't buy a drink.

The shame of your blatant theft should pale in comparison to the shame of having a collection of plastic Panera cups.

Why? I have plenty of real cups, I've just found I like using the Panera cups for some reason. I guess it's quirky, but I don't know why it would be shameful. I always thought it was wasteful how often people use cups once and then throw them away.

Ah, entitlement.

I think a better argument you should make is that your theft is helping the environment by reusing plastic cups (which may or may not be releasing BPA's from the cup by continual reuse).

I'm intrigued, though. Do you walk up to the counter with your empty cup and order a bunch of food with no drink and then go over and fill up your cup? What's your MO?

I always find a table and put my stuff down before I order any food, whether I brought a cup or not. So I don't walk up to the counter with the cup.

Thanks.

Any concern of ingesting BPA's?

Nick,

You are really trying to claim you're not sure whether your $1.29 iced tea purchase was a "lifetime free tea at panera" purchase or not?

Of course you know you're stealing. You pretending like you're not aware you're stealing is ****ing absurd.

I mean, you ****ing find a table before ordering your food so they don't see your cup at the counter! Come on, man.

INB4 we find out he fills up his cup mid-meal instead of right after ordering food but only because that's when he's thirsty and is not trying to hide anything, and at times he even leaves without filling his cup at all.
