Gorie, you have gone way past the "talents amateur" level and have entered the "true artiste" one. Incredible work.

I'm not usually a big art person but definitely have to admit I am pretty fond of several. Great stuff.

hm, actually more people showed interest in buying that one than any others.. and i've gotten a lot of compliments on it. i've had inquiries about buying it even after it sold.

that was my mom's favorite and she's seen them all in person. she likes that she can see a city skyline in it.

also p.s. YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS.

(i was wondering when i'd start to get some negative feedback tho )

I have mixed feelings on the art, but I can't help but feeling like there should be a really obvious answer to how this is made that I simply just can't think of.

edit: by this I mean, there's no way this was created with a brush, right?

paint, paint brushes, water, newspaper, paper towel and some music is what i have when i paint, hmm..

to tell you the truth i'd probably have a hard time going back to replicate an abstract painting. i mean i know my general process and techniques, but it kinda just builds as i go and let things happen and paint until i am happy with how it looks. i wouldn't know how to repeat the exact steps of what i did to get from point A to point B. i think that's why i get attached to some of my paintings.

sometime i should make a youtube video to show my painting process, but it would probably be boring.

Gorie,
Now you have me curious. How much would you ask for that piece? You can PM if you don't want to say in the thread.

Her paintings are on eBay, so I'm sure you can find out that way.

i just rediscovered an old one i did a couple years ago when i first started trying acrylics... it's been laying in a pile of my junkers. at the time i didn't think it was done, but now i kinda do. maybe i could work on the left side a bit more but i'd be afraid to wreck it too. kinda like it more now than i did at the time

I don't think it would be boring. At the least, then, you'd have 1 viewer.

i actually kind of ruined escape, so i'm not going to sell it. i'm pretty upset with myself about it, i scratched it. i liked that one a lot, too. but i will just keep it myself rather than try to fix it.

maybe some day i will make prints of it, since i have the image on file...

i just added escape 2 though. thx for looking

Good stuff gorie. I used to be big into painting back in school (was an art major) and i could afford paints and everything, and i had my own studio that i could use. now i live in a crappy two br apartment with no room that i could paint in, so i've been mostly doing photography and getting my digital art on.

i really like some of your work, especially your abstracts. your colors work really well together and as a body of work i think you've done a great job. and like i said you do a great job with the colors.

i also added you to my page on facebook. good stuff

mike,
that's cool that you were able to afford supplies and have your own studio!! i wish supplies weren't so expensive. would looove to be able to make a living doing this some day (i'm trying to work toward that), being able to have my own studio space sounds like a dream mmm studio. i'd be able to paint a lot more that's for sure. i can definitely relate to the space holding you back. right now i don't have much space since i had to move back with my parents last year (err yeah it sucks). it can be hard for things sometimes and it kind of limits how big i can paint too. and can't get too messy. also hard to find time to paint without being in the way. but luckily overall they are pretty cool about my art invading their home (for now). but it isn't the best situation.

thanks for the add on facebook!!!
