from the super cool dude ex-OOTposter (me) that brought you an original beedog painting...

and helped bring pooptoad to life...

and the best avatar ever...

let me introduce to you some NEW GORIE ART ! since i am painting again and loving it i thought i'd share, since i know some of you have shown interest in the past!!

i've moved away from realism for awhile and have gotten more into abstract paintings. i will continue to do both, but for now it's helping me get back into painting and i'm able to be a bit more expressive, so i am enjoying it a lot.

Perhaps the toad will make mention of his makeup artist at a later date.

good stuff gorie, my favorites are the first 3 as well as 'all i can hear is your heart' and 'new morning.' new morning or escape 1 are probably my top 2.

tbh though i am kinda on the fence as to whether the splattering technique in a couple of the latter ones adds much.

ham on rye - thanks. i know what you mean about the splatters, normally i'm not into that as much either, but it seemed to work for those pieces. kinda just happened but i liked the way it looked. "forever" is actually one of my favorites now, i hung it up in my room so that i can look at it and admire myself more often. it looks better in person, too.

The face in "light that never goes out" is freaking me out

it's freaking ME out. especially because when i look at that painting i always think of it as a soul type figure (headless) hanging and gripping onto something,. the arms stretched across the middle, one leg dragging down into the darkess, the other knee trying to climb up.

guess we found the head. seriously, that's spooky.

... o i meant good feeling... wait, there's a face in that one too??

Gorie,

Nice cherries. I'm really jealous of the watercolor pears that Cezanne did. Your abstracts are interesting too but I don't know anything about abstract painting (or any other type tbh).

I just recently got into watercolor painting after accusing myself of being completely inartistic my whole life. My brother is fantastic with charcoal/drawing/oil/whatever, but I've always been more math/science/poker than music/art.

It's frustrating as **** at times, but I have done some that were a lot better than I thought I'd be able to do so quickly.

I think this one is probably my best so far.

i'm not really into watercolors, dont really have any experience painting with them, but i think they're harder to control than acrylics or oils. i think yours looks good for being new to painting. keep at it! a lot of art is patience, imo.
