I started a thread like 6 mos ago with a poll of which phone to buy:

It's now the point where i'm hearing a lot of bad sh*t about the iphone 4 (namely the antenna issue). The evo is out of stock and it's super annoying that i can't get a new phone right away. I'm obviously a little impatient but am fully aware i will have to wait 3ish weeks before i make a decision.

I think only 60k evo's were made so the chances of getting actual user reviews is going to be difficult; but, if there are any of you out there... tell me your impressions, please.

The monthly bill is hardly relevant as sprint and at&t will end up comparable between these two phones.

My brother is a tech douche and very anti-apple for some reason. He tells me the i4 is a brick and i should even consider the droid x before that. I've owned an iphone since the beginning and can't imagine finding better. I've read A LOT of the endgadget stuff and they're obv apple biased, but i still can't find much reason not to go with the iphone.

Antenna issue is kind of a non issue. Yes they were dumb but there are work arounds so it doesn't really matter.

Uh, it would matter for those of us right-handed ppl who hate putting our phones in cases and like to hole them like a normal person.

I own an android device, but I would say iphone4. Both phones have huge pros and huge cons, but the iphone is better because the evo's battery life still struggles. Regardless, you should be picking a phone based on network since in 2 months, every network will have an awesome phone that is pretty much comparable to each other. In 6months? who knows (but if your contract runs out in 6 months, you should be very giddy about the posibilities), I guess we will see if apple releases a 4s by then.

The way I understood it, a piece of scotch/electrical tape solves the problem.

iPhone 4 vs HTC Evo

I swear this is like so many of my friend's wives and girlfriends when they talk about the iPhone.

It has the wifis.
I want the one with the bigger gb's.

Here is what I posted in the iPhone thread yesterday. I have owned all of the first 3 generations of the iPhone and made the switch to the Evo earlier this week.

Look, you can always get either phone and test it out for 30 days and return it. I would recommend that if you are unclear.

I absolutely love it.

Things that I like better on the Evo:

1) The 4.3 inch screen. It makes such a difference.
2) The Android OS. So many things to do and ways to customize your phone.
3) The built in HQ YouTube player. It blows the iPhone's away.
4) Flash
5) Live wallpapers
6) Camera. I don't think the video recorder is better than the iPhone 4's though.
7) Sprint's network. I was with Sprint for about 7 years until I left to get the iPhone in 2007. Sprint's 3g network is almost as fast as wifi and the 4g is just fantastic. The rate plans are the best in the business also.

Things that I miss from the iPhone

1) The media player. I miss not having iTunes. I have transferred my music using DoubleTwist, but I can't figure out how to get video over. It's frustrating.
2) Some of the games from the app store(Flight Control, GTA, Splinter Cell, NBA Live). I don't like the games in the Android Marketplace. Hopefully, that will change though.

Put my 3Gs camera on and compared it to the camera on the iPhone 4 side by side, blew my mind!!

Makes the 3Gs seem like an antique.

those were the absolute worst fkn issues to bring up about the HTC. none of those are even serious problems.

this; battery life is waaay overstated. If your battery is only lasting an hour, you've got a bad battery.
