He had a sarcoma but the cancer hadn't spread. Problem is likelihood of it coming back. And with the size of it (and some corresponding number) the average survival rate is about a year.

But....the sutures are out. And last week he wasn't eating at all, throwing up constantly, etc. I thought he was dying. He has 100% bounced back and seems completely fine.

One of my cats flopped and tried to play with Howard, who wasn’t interested. The cat was confused.

I trust any biopsies were ok?

She normally goes out the door of her house (on the right) to go into the garden each morning. Unfortunately today mistakes were made and she somehow missed.

My phone reminded me of this image from last year. Amazon continues to expand their product offerings...

Bought a pack of 2 "locally sourced" 10 inch beef bones. Fargo fully ate the first one within hours, but the second one a couple days later has some fancy pants syndrome flavoring going on and doggo won't touch it. Sad.

So what are the embarrassing nicknames you call your pets?

I'm not embarrassed by anything I call ours, but they would all show up as some number of asterisks here anyway. My wife calls our mini Schnauzer "Booger Butt" sometimes. I'm too embarrassed to ask her to explain it. She is our designated anal gland expresser so perhaps it has some connection to that.

Not embarrassing, but I used to call the golddog "punkin", cuz she was such a punkinhead. In a good way, of course.

Didn't realize until this post how similar our dogs' names are. Our rescue is named Mosby. Wife calls him Moze, Moser, and various other things. I call him Moby, Mopey, or whatever occurs to me. I call both our dogs Bud at times. Unlike Moze, Mosby answers to damn near anything if he thinks you're referring to him; and he always seems to know whether we are or not. Uncanny. Or uncaninely?

Yeah, I've been tempted to use Mosley, but one of my pet peeves (or Southern upbringing) or plain laziness is to force pets' (and kids') names to as short a form as possible. Hence, I've gravitated to Moby and Mopey--with very short second syllables. When they put me in charge of the world all names will be one syllable.

All pets (and if I'm honest, gf and gma too) get The Jerk treatment from me: Shithead.

Krazy the cat also gets Big Fattie pretty often. She is a really big girl.

Lucy the dog also answers to Dummy. She really is the dumbest dog I've ever had. She's lucky she's so lovable and well behaved. Also very lucky her little turds are hard and easy to clean up, lol. I've never had a dog that couldn't be taught to sit with very little effort, but not Lucy. It's clearly from her abuse by whoever had her before us as attempting to teach her anything is traumatizing to her and she just tucks her tail and pees a little. So, I've stopped trying to teach her anything. I'm pretty sure her original owners never let her out of her kennel, cage, whatever. When we got her, her nails had grown around the ends of her paws and we're starting to dig in to the pads of her paws. She has made huge progress in the 2 years we've had her and is really a good girl other than a few minor things.

I found a picture of the tortoises at my grandmother's old house that we visited. The one's that the owner's told us the male is a sex addict who only wants to mount the female, all the time. Action shot, NSFW:
