The Goonies is not terrible, but it was not as good as I recalled And didn’t keep my kid's interest long as I expected it to, tho they may be a little young for it. Also I am negatively biased as I got the book first as a kid and was very disappointed that several scenes did not make it to the movie. It was my first experience finding out that books are better. I’ll watch it solo one of these days.

My sister has always been into genealogy and has now progressed in DNA testing to enhance her knowledge of our family tree. For me, the best that can be said is the subject bores me. She convinced our two sisters to get tested and has always wanted me to take the test. I always told her I wasn't wasting my money on that crap. But, she reached a point where somehow she needed a male sibling to get a better picture (of what, I'm not sure) and she purchased the test for me. Being a not totally ******* brother I went ahead and spit in the tube and sent it in and registered. I've been getting a few emails from the site. Today I got this:

I was at the airport today and my flight to Chicago was delayed. The woman in front of me was panicked because the delay meant that she was going to miss her connection in Chicago.

The reason I am fascinated by this woman is because our plane was scheduled to land in Chicago at 12:01 and she said she had booked the next leg for a 12:05 departure. I hope/assume she was confused about the time change, but I love thinking that she intentionally planned a trip with a 4 minute buffer between arrival and departure in O'Hare.

[Major irritation for me was that I was scheduled to go to Hong Kong for the first time, but the delay meant I'd miss the Chicago-HK flight. Rebooked for the same flights tomorrow, hopefully I'll have better luck.]

Watched The Goonies last night. Gotta stand by the didn’t hold up. Maybe it’s because I finally got my own squawking kids in bed before I turned it on, but it was too many scenes of frantically squawking kids yelling over each other.
