But I had no idea about this part:

A recipe for "pate de jujubes" was published in 1709. The recipe called for gum arabic, sugar, and the date-like jujube fruit. In 1853, both "ju ju paste" and "ju ju drops" were sold by confectioners.

Depends on how much you smoke and for how long. I smoked for a couple of years and peaked at a half pack a day. I went through some pretty nasty withdrawals for about a month while quitting cold turkey. They actually involved a sudden spike in seizures due to preexisting epilepsy.

After a month, the physical withdrawal effects were mostly gone but I had a few brief nicotine cravings even 8 months after quitting. And I wasn't a heavy smoker and didn't smoke for a long time.

Anyway, it was the best decision I ever made. I gained 15-20 pounds during my first smoke-free year but it was worth it.

He has been a bit crabby but I pretty much expected that. Also has been much hungrier. I said take a month and just eat what you like and then we'll get back on track again. He isn't eating takeaway just more bread and treaty stuff. He doesn't want to put on weight so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Luckily he's tall so can eat a bit more than most.

I've never understood the physical withdrawal effects cuz people around me would say they get headache and other stuff from withdrawals. I never get anything physical, I get crazy depression. I quit a million times and when I do I get crazy depression like I'm ready to die, then if I smoke a cigg I'm back to normal me.

The seizures were pretty unique to me due to my disorder. But definitely experienced some headaches related to the withdrawal though they weren't particularly severe.

It was easy for me due to how little I smoked and that I wasn't a smoker for a long time. I can't imagine how hard it is for people who have been smoking two packs a day for 20+ years.

Dafuq are jubes?
I just assumed that was Aussie for jujubes, but I guess it could be what they call lollipops.
