It was an angry white guy though so americans response will mostly be "Shrug". Just mental illness, nothing you can do. Totally unpreventable. If it had been a muslim then it would be terrorism and there would be lots of good responses but in this case there is no solution.

It's not. Yeah, semantics, but terrorism involves some kind of political motive. A mentally ill person shooting up a concert isn't the same thing as ISIS doing so even if the death toll ends up the same.

That said, his motives aren't yet known. I'm sure we'll have a better picture within a few days. Unfortunately people are going to speculate away in the meantime.

I think the last tragedy thread was locked pretty quickly due to politards and general terrible posting.

You're reaching. It could be connected, but there's no reason to assume that it is at this point. If you want to kill a lot of people, a concert is where you would target.

Maybe he had large gambling losses and he extracted revenge against the casinos by shooting up the music festival.

Really terrible but as horrible as it is to say not super shocking anymore. This kind reminds me of the Charles Whitman Texas University shooting in 1966 except with a automatic weapon.

If the guy doesn't have a long list of mental health problems I would be shocked, I know the guy that did Charles Whitmans autopsy found a brain tumor, could be a similar thing or some type of brain injury which has triggered this among other thing. This is just pure speculation but at that age?
