Have Middleswarth chips been discussed here? They are mostly in Northeast PA, though I found some in Central PA a few weeks ago. I'd heard they had kind of legendary status and that people from NE PA go crazy over them.

I stocked up on 3 varietals for my first Middleswarth experience, BBQ, Jalapeno kettle cooked and original kettle cooked. The first two were fine but I didn't quite get the hype. The original kettle cooked were REALLY good though. Tough to describe what set them apart, just a more complex and substantial taste than you'd usually get from unflavored chips I guess.

Probably won't make that my last Middleswarth experience-- if anyone has recs on which other varietals to try I'm all ears.

Dried fruit with chocolate on the side. I know it is Summah and fruit is ripe I still buy plenty of fresh, but chomping down on some dried mango, cherry, and apple with a side of chocolate is great.

My favorite potato chips are the Ruffles Queso flavor but in my area they only come in snack size. Best chip out there.

My two worst snack habits are:

- Buy a cheap jar of queso and some good chorizo. Cook the chorizo, add the queso, eat with chips.

- Ramen. About half the time the Sun ramen, other half Shin Black or random stuff I'm trying.

My worst is probably homemade chex mix. I never realized just how bad it is until I recently added up the calorie counts for my recipe. Not great, especially when you can't stop shoveling it in.

Yes, by "worst" I meant unhealthy. The chorizo queso is delicious too.

I've had many ramen over the years, but I agree with you on both of those, which is why I've mostly settled with them (but I still dip into other brands so I can find a rare gem every so often).

Yeah, that stuff is like crack, impossible to stop eating it. I made a version a couple weeks back w hot sausage, cream cheese, a little cheddar and Rotel. Ridiculous.

Back on page 100 i see discussion of dots pretzels - these things are awesome. Regular > Southwest but SW are still good.

Lucky for me a local place totally copied the original dots and they're even better! The guy that owns the adult snack store here gave me a free bag and well GG dots.

Sad that gardettos bagel chips aren't here

Booker, any word on the quality of Cherry BBQ, Buffalo Wing, and Parmesan Ranch? Might just have to plow through them all over the next couple of weeks.

I have had the Parmesan ranch and liked them, have not tried the others.

Just tried some good garlic & parmesan kettle chips, they were from Amazon's house-brand Aplenty. Only $2.29 or so too, good value. Seems like there's a niche for more garlic-flavored snacks that's just waiting to be filled, but I'm no snack marketeer.

Went through another bag of Parmesan Ranch this week, confirmed really good. I probably like the jala ones better but it's close.

Do they mention whose beer is in it? Or does that just mean they use some malt in the dough somewhere?

I don’t think there’s beer in it, at least I didn’t see any on the ingredients list. They add malted barley and hops though.

If you like charred stuff, the Unique Snacks Extra Dark Splits are amazing.

Because of this thread, tried Dot's Seasoned Pretzels. Quite good. Don't know what the seasoning is, but a step up from plain salty pretzels.
