That's what I'm leaning towards, yes. I was counting on 3-4 dozen getting sold to the guys in the sports betting thread, but I guess enough of them didn't care for my pay structure so they started their own $250 pool. Assuming no big run of signups over the next 24 hours, I'll probably make the call tomorrow to drop it to $125 squares and chop all the payouts in half. Of course, if I do that, everyone who is already signed up will have a chance to get a refund if they don't want to stay in.

Thanks for the feedback. Another option I'm considering is using blank squares. I'd sell as many as I can for as long as I can, but if I sell 80 squares, we'd have 20 blank ones. If a winning score falls on a blank square, that payout would roll over to the next winner. Of course in that scenario all payouts would be reduced by 20%. If the final winner is a blank square, I'd keep it all. Just kidding...that final payout would revert back to the last non blank winning square.

This option would let me keep it open as long as possible. I'm traveling to Vegas Friday night so I'll be a bit limited throughout the weekend, but I'll have some time both during the day Saturday and again Sunday morning to wrap up anything still running. I do plan to, hopefully, have all the rest filled, randomized, and posted before I leave Friday.

Like RED, I'm fine with cutting it off at 50 and halving the payouts.

If you keep it open and don't fill the board and go with your rollover plan, of course you would need to stop accepting entries before the randomization. With your weekend schedule, that might make things a little tight for you. (Probably a reminder you didn't need )

I like this idea too, especially given your limited avilability due to travel.

That said, it is your thing and obviously I'll go along with whatever you choose. Let me know if i can help with randomization when you're ready.

Another option is to take money for the first 50, let people reserve additional and if there is enough interest by say Friday before you can leave then you can start accepting money for those.

I would think we would know the answer in a few days.

I'm going to hold off as long as I can on making a final decision, but I am going to start reaching out to people today to let them know of the situation and find out if they're going to stay in or ask for a refund if I drop it to $125 squares. I'm hoping everyone stays in, but with a $250 running over in the sports betting forum, some people may elect to take their money over there. One way or another, this pool is still going to run.

I think the blank square option would only be good if you got close to getting all 100 sold, like 90ish (although at this pace, it doesn't seem like this will happen). It will be too many blanks if sell 60-70 or whatever. I like your first idea of giving everyone double what they bought and cutting payouts in half. I'm good with whatever you decide though.
