... which is what I did.
River is a blank. Check, check. Utg takes it down with top two pair.

I had cbet aces a while back and wound up rivering a 222jj full house, so for a fleeting moment I considered that the 4s could be good vs UTG - but when the other guy called there was no way I could think they were good.

Like two hands later I 4 bet w AA again, 3 callers, sb pushed for $1k and I folded on a flop I whiffed. Pissed away the last $700 or whatever 2 hands after that with AQJ109ss on a AJx flop vs AA. Gg

Don't be results oriented.

Spoiler:

Yeah the real problem is how much I let it get to me, and then I just blew up a stack that I had patiently built up over 5 hrs.

Not uncommon to see 1/2 NL going, lower versions obv as well. PLO from 1/2 down to 5c/10c common as well. Pretty close to 24h I'd imagine especially due to pulling in NV players from the pool that would keep games running later on the east coast.

I don't play 5-card but the flop cbet seems bad

Yea that cbet is burning money where you are unlikely to have much fold equity.

Even if you have the highest hand on that turn, you're unlikely to have the best hand there against two villains so the blank is more like hitting a low outer.

If that's the game I'm thinking of, it's not 8 or better.

I might stick around on the turn and evaluate the river. Basically, check all rivers except a 4. But I'm a terrible calling station so folding is probably right.

Not an Omaha player. If we're showing down on 4th street we're calling right? Part of the reason for the fold is half the deck or more could be bad? It wasn't specified if the turn completed the rainbow or not, but assuming no.

I went for my first limp AA attempt in a few years, and Im pretty sure it was the most successful rendition dating back to my high school home games!

I was playing 1/3-300 spread (lol WA state law, bet and 3 raises per street as well) that was playing bigger than an average $5 bb game. Ive taken to stacking chips in amounts I dont know so I dont obsess over what my count is, think I had roughly $800 for the hand.

UTG: A f*** A. Decent chance I get 3 bet if I open to 15, but the big blind is having an option less than once an hour at this table, so i ****ing limp! A couple more limps, and sure enough the whale makes it 20, cutoff and bb call, I make it 80 (arguably small in this game, but pfr and cutoff only have about 300, and bb about 5) other limpers fold, pfr calls, cutoff calls, and bb folds to much razzing from other two players.

Flop 774r, bet a buck, pfr calls, cut folds. Turn J, bet his last buck and quarter. River J, give it to us.

If anything this thread is reminding me how terrible most players' mental game is. Playing ABC with decent bankroll management and none of these weird hangups will make most people a small winner. If you want to win big you have to target the ppl keeping their stacks messy "so they don't obsess about their count", the outlaw Josie whales taking an underrolled shot that get upset over losing two buyins, etc.

Hey that reminds me, I lost last Friday. In fact, I lost 2 buyins at PLO. Played a couple hands really badly, like a noob. Moved over to 2/5NL and won a lil bit back. I was still steaming but it’s hard not to win when dealt 10/10, 7/7, 10/10, 6/6, & Q/Q almost in a row.

Flop was A-8-7 and when he potted it....Did I fold? Nope. Did I call? Nope. All in baby, even though I knew he had aces.

Grrr

And then I bluffed against an old (in PLO!) when I was steaming.

Um I'm pretty sure surreptitiously changing the text of what people wrote in their post isn't okay you fascist.

Great job with your new appointment, mod selection team.

Wow, you must've been steaming before you thought you were. Perfect spot to call and hope to bink on those aces.

I’m not wild about mods editing others’ posts, though.

Amusing that the joke was yours and not DZ’s, of course.
