Only thing I would add is that while feeling bad about short stacking for several years is commendable, you can let it go now.

It’s 6:40pm, I’ve lost 2 buyins at PLO. Walked away steaming. Went to diner next door for dinner and to cool off.

On list for 2/5nl and playing 1/2nl in the meantime. I’ve got a hole to dig out of. ** OOT Poker Thread **

An MGM 500 hand that was mildly interesting. I’m on 260k playing 1-2k with a 2k big blind. I raise to 4500 with JJ UTG. UTG+2 flats, he has me covered. Two folds. Relatively short stack (62k) raises to 14k. Folded back to me.

I have played with UTG+2 before and he is never flatting AA-QQ in that spot. What’s my action?

That's PLO, it gets to me at times as well. Could be the night to do something else, maybe get drunk and pound penny slots.

When I'm in the mindset of "I've got a hole to dig out of," it's time to stop playing cards. You're going to go into the next game like a bull and be extra annoyed at any more bad beats. Even if you win your buyins back, you likely still won't feel great about it.

This is why I prefer playing online. Live, I feel too much pressure to keep playing because, "Well I'm already here..." At home, I can just drink heavily and play video games until my eyes bleed. Meh, I'm probably just losing my poker stamina.

62k? Can’t call, can’t fold.

Josie I was going to predict those exact results for tonight earlier in the week after all the back and forth since the last session, but didn't want to send bad juju.

You done doomswitched yourself.

You have 130bb yourself though. What were starting stacks?

Calling obviously bad

UTG+2 started the hand with 310k.

I’ll answer what I did in the morning. I did think it was an interesting spot and I’m not sure my line was correct.

Take the long view.

Don’t be results oriented.

It’s all one long game.

And remember the only way you lose is if you beat yourself.

It’s you against you Josie.

The Legend of Swings right there.

Larry Legend rides around on a never ending tidal wave of poker chips.

Larry's steamy return to chat poker is exciting and welcomed.
If the thread survives I will be awaiting credit for envisioning this a year ago.

Does anyone find Bobby Baldwin likable?

Thought he was a good fit in the Triton game. His play was sporadic, timid at times and then full-on ego in big pots he had no business being in. His likability goes up if you think of him as an assassin instead of an older guy with money to burn.

I've been watching the latest Triton games, and it feels like its the first time I've ever seen him try to be personable. Still doesn't appeal to me.

I don’t think he’s the sort that slowplays AA-QQ there, but I could be wrong. And if I call and he minraises, it reopens betting to the 62k stack; and if the 62k stack then jams, the deep stack behind me would have a live raise.

Interestingly, pokersnowie would have folded both JJ and QQ in my spot.

Irrelevant results: raiser had AA.
