I read somewhere on 2p2 that the games at Boston Encore are overrated. Considering that there was a year+ long hype period for regs across the country to plan to relocate there. Ergo, the games aren't as good as they would normally be for a new casino opening.

How would you comment on that?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I don't really understand people relocating to a place that has only one poker room, but some people have done that.

Regardless, the games are good. 1/3NL is a nitfest of people who don't know how to really play post flop and don't have a fold button. Not my first choice of games. 2/5 NL is where I've had most success and where I see about a 70/30 split of uberrecreational/grinders. I personally have success with both.

5/10NL I played it once, lost my buy in and ran away.

PLO is the juiciest game in the room. Tons of action. Again a mixture of grinders and people who don't understand the nuance of the game.

Puhlease. I could get laid most easily if I was into rando partners.

So Joise, would you describe yourself as "tight agressive" or "loose passive"?

Would it be fair to say that the "aggressive aggressive" strategy put dinner guy to a decision and he folded?

No, that would be very unfair.

1. I wasn't using a strategy but just being myself, someone he has known for about 8 years.

2. He did not fold. Folding is an intentional act. I'd say he got rivered, after raising me 3 incredible times. Yes, 3 times. All un****ingbelievable.

I just feel bad that I couldn't split the pot with him.

Nitfest: game full of people with no fold button.

I need to update my glossary.

It's like they wait, wait, wait until they see a flop and once they do, no fold button. Married to those pocket 8s or AJ.

I thought of Matusow as an ass until I met him. Actually, a pretty nice guy.

Quick TR for Encore BH last weekend:

Beautiful property and it was jam packed at night, in fact they ran out of parking Fri night and we had to park across the street (pro tip - park at the back of Home Depot and scale the fence)

Large poker room, good layout seems decently run but a lot of things still need to be worked on (we had a waiting list of 15+ for 5-5 PLO forever and when they finally called it at 1am only 3 people showed up). Some dealers were straight up terrible but most were competent. Games were generally good to excellent.

Didn't see our intrepid mod out there, hopefully next time

Thought I've seen everything at a poker table, but a dealer trying to break a table with his forehead was the first. Might post a full story if I have time.

Red8 2/10 Burger bar 8.5/10

All in all, a fun was had, money were won and I'm definitely planning to return

Wait what? You were at EBH and didn't say hello? Grrrr

Someone needs to fix this post-haste. What did you play? I played 2/5NL for a couple hours Fri night, and then 5/5PLO Sunday night.

I got there Fri around 10pm played till about 4am Sat then noon till 11pm on Sat pretty much all 2/2 PLO (they called my name around 3am on Sat and 5/5 either never got off the ground on Sat or they started it just before I was ready to leave again)

Anyways, tldr Story Time:

A fun player (FP) in Seat 1 loses most of his chips and adds on, dealer announces "$200 behind" (dealer doesn't hand him chips so at this point everyone assumes they are coming from a chip runner)

The very next hand he gets stacked for the rest of his chips and virtual $200 to an Asian dude (AD) in seat 6, AD inquires when he's going to get real chips to which dealer replies "It's coming". FP proceeds to rebuy for $300 and dealer gives him $300 in chips. AD makes a reasonable claim to his $200, and dealer says "It's coming" again. At this point the chip runner is passing by the table, dealer asks him about $200, chip runner shrugs and says he's never got any money from our table.

Now FP is becoming curious about his missing $200 and dealer calls the floor, explains the situation but then tells him that his box is even and FP must have given $200 to a previous dealer (???) Everyone at the table is exchanging glances but the dealer is defending this story so vigorously that we kinda let it go and wait for the floor decision.

Floor announces that he's going to look at the tape and orders dealer to give $200 in chips from FP's stack to AD, tells the table that FP is "$200 behind" and walks away.

His lol decision will get immediately tested as the very next hand there's an open to 15, couple of calls, I 3-bet to $75 in Seat 9 and FP flats. At this point I tell the dealer to freeze the play and call the floor immediately. A shift manager comes to the table and I explain that I'm exposed to $300 in risk but will only get $100 from FP if his chips are never found.

FP makes a fairly reasonable suggestion to buy another $200 in chips to which I agree but the shift makes the decision it's too late effectively leaving FP with $25 stack after his call and stands behind the dealer to observe the play. The hand proceeds, 2 more players call and it's 4 to the flop for $3xx pot. Don't recall what the flop was only that I completely whiffed, one of the pf callers leads 2/3 pot, I fold and it's on FP who's last to act and he tanks (lol)?

Apparently, he didn't understand shift's decision and still thought he had $225 in his stack. After some time passes, other players are trying to let him know that he only has $25 (debatable ethically, not even sure what the right move is in this situation).

Dealer apparently did not appreciate all the commotion, firmly planted both hands on the felt and gave the table a powerful headbutt. I looked at the shift but she gave me her poker face, so I guess it was business as usual at EBH. FP finally figures out it's only $25 to him, shrugs and throws it in the pot. The other player wins the pot vs his pair of 7s.

FP rebuys again, a few hands pass and our temperamental dealer leaves.

Floor comes back, says the tape showed that our dealer gave FP's chips to another shortstack in Seat 2, who's still at the table and says "Hmm I guess I forgot to give the dealer money lol" (scumbags gonna scumbag or free $200? idk you be the judge)

Seat 2 gives FP $200 in chips and life goes on. We see our dealer shortly at a nearby table with no outward signs of a headache. Not sure if he even got a write-up for his shenanigans.

Not something you see every day for sure
