On top of the dark sludge is a beaten egg white mixture that sort of crisped up while baking though looking at the pic, it could've been a tad darker.

Now we're talking! Both look delicious, but both prob on the too sweet side for me. I'd still demolish that berry pie, but in general I like fruit pies with less syrupy binder in the filling and more just plain fruit. And pies like the second one are usually delicious to me for the first couple of bites, then too sweet to eat the proper amount of multiple slices.

The Walmart frozen berry pie is a legit value at $3.35. Found in your local Walmart frozen pie section. I have one in my freezer now. I'm just waiting for some brownies to get finished first.

So, left to my own devices, I would submit a humble key lime pie. You'd all jeer at me, no doubt, but I'd eat the whole thing and I'd be pretty ****ing happy.

Last week, I went to the so called Pie Emporium and got a slice of the lemon chiffon and chocolate cream.

The lemon chiffon was aight, i'll keep my key lime, but the chocolate cream was lit.

How do I accomplish such a rich filling, and what would you do instead of the pretzel crust which was merely ok?
