Same place. I forgot it changed names. Had had 3 or 4 since the 90s.

Deathhammer are pretty huge if you're in to recent 'true' (cringe) metal. Evil Power was my AOTY last year, and they headlined the first day at a fest I went to last year.

I find the names of the genre's bands and songs rather fascinating. Interesting stylistically and I don't quite understand how that came to be.

I'm 100% certain my mother would faint if she had to listen to that song. Lol

Apparently that album title translates to "Projecting the singular emission ov the Doctrine ov Absolute and All-Absorbing Evil through the hexahedral prism ov Sîn-Ahhī-Erība upon the hypersurface ov zodiacal arc ov the cosmotechnical order ov paleocontact founders the utterly ancient hypostases ov pre-axes civilizations actuate the resonance transformer ov temporally similar to the eternity ov the future in the towers ov Nwn-Hu-Kek-Amon’s obcervatory embodying the ashes ov Alulim into the ethereal matter to the west ov exoplanet PSRB 1620-26b." according to this somewhat amusing article about the absurdity of it.

I have no words for how stupid and self-fellating this band seems to me.

**** them for taking themselves so seriously. I'm seeing Dirty Rotten Imbeciles tomorrow.

I bet there is some sickos out there who can spell that band name off the top of their head. Would sure love to watch a biopic on who they would be.

I'm seeing Shinedown and Five Finger Death punch in a couple weeks. They're probably not to the hardness of most all yalls flavor but I'm really excited about it.

I don't know if I could ever get to the point where those vocals are not a detriment.

For me it was a gradual process. I loved Iron Maiden and Metallica but Pantera's screaming was too much for me. Until I listened to it some more and I started to love it. Cannibal Corpse though? That's obviously just noise. Or is it? Turns out I liked that, too. Marduk on the other hand. Come on, that's not music. Well, I changed my mind on that as well.
It certainly is an acquired taste and it is not for everyone. Most of my metal loving friends didn't make the same journey and are still turned off by any growls and screams.

I started out liking harsh but despising clean vocals. Tbf, I got into metal at a stage where my music taste was very much just forming - I was 11, and listened to nothing with clean vocals until I was 13 ish.

To me the vocals are often just a percussion instrument. It is not like you can make out what they are saying most of the time. I don't really compare them to clean vocals that are meant to add lyrical content.

What KJS said. It's just another instrument. I'm hardly concerned at all with lyrical content anymore.

Which is not a bad thing considering what they are actually saying most of the time...

I had a similar evolution. For me it started from bands that combined clean vocals with screaming such as Bullet For My Valentine. Things like the following are still a bit too much for me though.
