I like the Vannhelgd, Vallenfrye, Dust Bolt, Diocletian, Miasmal. Always looking for new stuff for our show.

The year's been pretty terrible for metal, so the Demilich re-release box set and the Fukpig re-recording have been the best metal releases (best album overall is Fire! Orchestra's Enter, but that's an experimental jazz album rather than a metal one). Some other picks which have been very good:

Autopsy - Tourniquets, Hacksaws and Graves
Black Magic - Wizard's Spell
Dark Fury - Synningthwait (warning: NSBM)
Demon Head - Demon Head demo
Dungeons of Blood - Forlorn Graves EP
Nechbeyth - Coerce Creed EP
Scalpel Succubus Bitch - Sadistic Empire demo

Vannhelgd is ok, the other 4 I couldn't listen to for more than a minute.

The only albums I've been willing to pay for this year have been from Svarttjern, Inhumano, and Desecration.

Please god not Brain Drill. Single worst DM band of the past 10 years. It's like they take the (already ****ty) Necrophagist template and remove the very few elements which were of merit.

On a serious note, this Insurgency stuff is pretty cool. Not a fan of the Albino Bone thing stuff but 1/2 is doing damn well.
