Yep, there is a ton of wiggle in that estimate, both as to the amount of time **** sapiens has existed (anywhere from a low of 50K to a high of 200K years) and as to populations. An additional 150000 years is a lot of people even if the world population is low — another 15B if population averages 100,000.

So yeah, I’m probably low.

Before Googling I would have guessed MUCH lower though.

Are we counting all the HSap that have been born alive and died in infancy? If so, I would think much higher. Infant mortality used to be incredibly brutal.

Surely infant mortality was much higher in the ancestral environment than today, but I think it's quite possible that it was even higher in like the 1000 years or so that many people lived in cities but before vaccinations, antibiotics, water treatment and sanitation and even before that the introduction of domestic livestock was a source for a lot of disease. And it was during this time (most of human civilization) that an abundance of food resulted in women having children every year or two. In the ancestral environment humans with longer periods of breast feeding and less food availability, women may have gotten pregnant more like once every 4 or 5 years (like chimps).

Didn't there just used to be a lot of infanticide in hunter/gatherer tribes with groups knowing how many kids they could realistically raise at one time and killing the rest? I'm sure I read somewhere that isolated tribes still do that now. Haven't heard that women just got pregnant a lot less though I'd be interested to read about it.

Just talked to my 15 year old's boyfriend via facetime to reassure her that her eyebrows' are fine.

This is the same daughter that I forbade from visiting said bf any more frequently than every other fortnight. WATTBA

Yes, same daughter that I beat.

I knew someone ~20 years ago who plucked all her eyebrows and replaced them with tattoos, so there is that

Those ****ers come back! I’ve been plucking my eyebrows since I was 14. If I don’t get them waxed every couple of weeks I have a goddamned unibrow.

Anyone here have the pleasure of getting waxed? JFC the pain

Pfft. Electrolysis girl - now that is pain!

Mom yanked all of her eyelashes out of one eye when her arm slipped on the sink using one of those eyelash curler things. Cool story bro.

We're talking brows, bro. Take that lash trash and skadash.

I had the hair removed on part of my leg when a motorcycle fell on it and I was burned by the exhaust pipe. That actually didn't hurt until a couple days later.

I have hairless shins and I don’t know why.
03-24-2019 , 10:20 PM
me too, but i know why

I dated a girl for a few weeks that had tattoos instead of eyebrows. Not tattooed eyebrows but 6 tiny little tattoos over her eyes. My friends still refer to her as Eyebrows. I don't remember her name.

I've been pretty much entirely waxed a couple times. It was like that scene in 40 Year old Virgin but more clumps and blood.

Sup OOT,

Was in Austin for a few days, so I had some bbq.

Franklin bbq: brisket, ribs, sausage.

Everything was very good, but the ribs were simply amazing. Definitely more of a standout than the (very tasty) brisket. Sides were mediocre.

Also got a few mini-pies, all great:

Banana was my favorite.

If you get 5lbs or more, you can pre-order and walk up here:

Instead of waiting in line for hours:

La barbecue: beef rib, brisket.

Both excellent, but beef rib too rich and fatty to eat a bunch. Possibly best brisket I’ve ever had. Again, sides were mediocre.

Sides are mostly stupid imo. Pickles(onion/jala/cuc) are all you need and they help cut through the richness of the meat.

La barbeque is definitely awesome, but the wait there can be brutal as well.

Tx,

You can pre-order la barbecue (no minimum) and skip the line.

We went on a Thursday afternoon (around 330) and there were only 2 people in line. When we left (430-5) there were maybe a dozen in line.
