Instead of using a microfiber cloth or the crappy cleaner liquid, just wash your glasses with a tiny bit of dish soap and lukewarm water. I've been doing this every day for over a year and I'm convinced it's the absolute best way to clean them. I even hesitate to use a microfiber cloth in emergency situations now, because nothing compares with the crisp clarity of actually washing them.

Gently massage the soap into your lenses with your fingers, cold rinse when the soap is almost completely washed away. There's a slight learning curve on the amount of soap/massaging you want to do, but you'll figure it out pretty quickly. The result is unbelievably clear. You don't get any of the annoying streaks or "hazing" that a microfiber cloth usually leaves. This also reduces the danger of creating scratches that using a cloth poses.

This tip is obviously aimed at people who wear corrective lenses, but it works well for sunglasses too. One note, avoid using water that is warmer than lukewarm-- hot water can apparently affect the prescription in your lenses.

Interesting, but how do you dry them without a cloth? Is shaking a couple times enough to get lenses dry enough where they won't streak?

Yeah, I just do a slow, final rinse of the lenses and shake off any spare droplets by gently tapping the glasses on a flat towel. Wipe the nose piece and side bars, and you’re good to go.

Once you get it down, the whole process only takes about a minute.

I thought you were talking about drinking glasses until the end.

Went from buying celery every week and throwing half out that was limp af, to stumbling on the trick of wrapping your celery in tin foil. Don't ask me how, but it works great. Celery now last for weeks.

GCDS, who recently started working as a bus, confirmed they do that where he works. Surprised I'd never heard of it until recently.

Another, similar trick for cilantro: put it in a glass of water and cover it with a plastic bag, in the fridge. Lasts a lot longer. Same with asparagus, except you don't have to cover it with bag. Glad to know about the celery, I just threw 3/4 of a bunch away yesterday.

kale, cilantro, parsley, chard, etc also last forever in a plastic ziploc with a damp paper towel.

Never 'check out' of a hotel. There is no reason to.
Learned this in Vegas 20 years ago when I just said 'F-it' to waiting in a huge line to do what? get a receipt? Never had a problem.

This has saved me DAYS of time over the years. When you get 2 or 3 days free in Hotel A and then Hotel B......You can always call them later and have them scrub some charge that was there if there was an error.

Whole Foods hot bar. Only put the corner of your box on the self checkout scale.

Easy enough to plead ignorance if any store worker cares (they won’t). Suck on that, Bezos.

Ah, bumping the thread that was basically "how to steal without getting caught" with a "how to steal without getting caught" life trick.

I remember one recently which was just putting a different barcode over expensive meats. Stealing isn't a trick.

If you own any mutual funds you’re probably stealing from yourself as well.
