I don't get the joke, did I get worked over? I don't know what to expect. There were a couple 4-6 person tables open but we got the first 2 person table that i saw.

Depends on the restaurant man , like say mission on orchard or sushi of Gari , maybe. But honestly , people don't really have dinner till like 8pm. Most likely you blew that 20 though. Like 99 percent most likely.

he's referencing the number in your screenname and the fact that you waited 15-20 minutes, not 10.

Putting numbers in your name puts you at risk for jokes like this.

I'm like 100% sure it was a blown $20 in the sense that it didn't speed anything up, but if it was because the restaurant wasn't busy enough to make a difference that early and the host couldn't speed up what was going to be a reasonable wait either way, I don't really mind. I guess I'm wondering how long people expect to wait when using the trick. Is 15-20 mins a long time even if you otherwise wouldn't have even been offered a table?

I got that, I just didn't realize a 15-20 min wait was worthy of a joke.

$20 should be 5 minutes or less at 6:30. Probably just a wasted 20.
And I think the procedure is give them the $ before, not after. After 15-20 minutes I'd be like why the **** am I giving this guy $20 again?

You're still way ahead with all the speeding tickets you've gotten out of.

If there was a noticeable amount of other parties waiting for a table for 2, and you were bumped to the top of the list, then good job. If not, then wasted. This shouldn't be hard to decipher.

I don't get out of speeding tickets very often, I pay for most of them. So I'm way behind now.

I did give it to him before. I asked if I could get a table without a reservation with the plan of giving him the $20 with a thank you if yes or giving him the $20 while asking if he might have any cancellations if no.

It's not but I like to overanalyze things.

Remotes work through a lot of blankets. You don't have to hang your arm out or lay it on top of you.

Also ricochets off walls so you dont have to point it at the TV. Just let your hand naturally point to the wall behind your head when watching TV in bed.

Years ago four of us were at a packed restaurant during a street festival and we asked for a table for four and they told us 45-60 minutes. Guy with us slipped her a twenty and she immediately grabbed four menus and said, "Right this way."

If this doesn't work, you need to change the batteries in the remote.

for the smokers. not sure if this is standard but leave like a 3-5cm gap between the roach and the product. that way u can finish it w/o it being rough at the end.

I use a soft avacado as a substitute for butter and mayo on bread. I use it with tuna fish and eggs as well. It is a great way to get a way healthier food option in your body and it tastes great and provides the same effect as butter or mayo.

New versions of textbooks are such a racket. Realistically, we're not making such amazing strides in the fields of Calculus and Geometry that we need a new edition every year.

Oh, so your twelfth edition manages to present Integration by Parts better than your last 11 did?

"I'll be assigning homework problems out of the $120 version of the book, so if you do problems 1, 3, 5, 11-15, 18, 21, and 32 out of the $8 version from last year's course, I'm going to fail you."

Yea and it's not even like they're re-presenting the material - at least that'd be remotely ok. But they're often just fixing typos.

My university had all of the text books in the library but almost no one knew about them so they were always there when I needed to check them out. I stopped buying books when I found this out and saved a ton of money. This is probably the case with some other schools as well.
