Yes please. Although in your place I wish we had someone in the ZIP code of crappiness of AlexM to challenge him instead. This won't (or at least shouldn't) be close. Luckily he's proven himself clueless enough that he might actually accept.

obv i'm a politard so i alexm, but is he really an OOT regular? I feel like he posts less here than even I do, and I don't post in OOT that much.

According to the search function, AlexM has made 250 posts in OOT in the last 3 1/2 months or >2 posts/day. That's probably how we know he's terrible. He's probably a favorite vs. illeagle though.

Really? I find that I agree with Henry probably 75% of the time. He is just sharing his life experiences.

Henry -- I like your posting if only because you offer such an, ahem, unusual take on things. You are also never rude and perfectly civil.

What's your background? What I've gathered as fact is the following:

- you used to be a lawyer, educated in Canada, have lived in Canada your whole life
- single, mid-30s
- have $; enjoy the finer things in life

Some things I'm assuming:

- you're white
- don't interact with other people too often (not meant as a disparaging comment, more that you're a loner type)
- your other 2p2 account is "El Diablo"

Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?

Grey poupon is made in New Jersey. A man of Henry's class and taste would only eat a dijon mustard that's made in Dijon, France. Imagine the humiliation if his friends saw him eating grey poupon!

Aloysius,

You got my age, expensive tastes and ethnicity correct but that was about it.

I was never a lawyer. I have an LLB (as well as a bunch of other degrees) and I was hired by a Bay St firm to article (in Canada we have a year between law school and full lawyer) but I quit. Working 60-80 hours a week does not appeal to me.

I have lived outside of Canada but never for any extended time. I own a vacation home in Europe so I use to spend a lot of time there. I've moved to US cities for a few weeks at a time but always with a home base in Canada.

Not married but I have a serious GF now.

I'm actually very social. I go out almost every night. I don't believe in having food in the house and delivery is awful for you so I would starve if I didn't go out. I actually have trouble keeping people away as I have a lot of people who try to level jump from acquaintance to friend.

I don't have any other 2P2 accounts.

I have never in my life tried to be popular and I have no intention of starting. I say far too many true things and most people have no desire to hear the truth.
i don't see how any of this has anything to do with why it's so obviously apparent to the majority of OOT (hence your reservations of entering a "silly popularity contest") think you're a horrible poster. replace 'true things' and 'the truth' with '******ed things' and 'incoherent babbling' and you'll be that much closer to understanding why you suck.

If I came to this site to enter popularity contests, I would obviously employ a vastly different posting style.
i don't see how this is obvious. people are popular here because they bring intelligent thoughts to the conversation. how on earth could you "employ" intelligence? it seems to me it takes every shred of what little you have to remember not to stick silverware in electrical outlets, leaving none to go towards the seemingly random words you type in reply boxes here.

basically, if you're not down for survivor, it must be because you've somehow correctly figured out that you suck and everyone else knows you suck. since this is the case, will you just voluntarily stop posting in OOT?

I suggest you get some motion-sensor exterior lights. Also, plant some thorny bushes beneath your windows to discourage undesirables from trying to jump up and climb in.

In that case, pepper spray should do the trick.

edit: i think you should also take a video camera with you. If a casual aquaintance comes up and tries to get into your friend zone, then you start filming, give them a condescending stare while they try to suck up to you, and then pepper spray them.

I know it's hard for high school kids to understand this, but the world isn't all about popularity contests and not caring about being able to win them isn't the same as sucking. I might very well suck, but that's completely and totally unrelated.

I didn't choose to be a contestant in that and if asked I would have said no.

I'm well aware that the majority of OOT, including yourself, is on a lower level than me. This is why I would lose a popularity contest LDO.

No, people are popular here, as with everywhere else, because they say things that other people agree with, and many people here are be so full of themselves that they consider anyone who agrees with them to be intelligent and those who don't to not be so.

Yep, I'm really stupid. That's why I've played poker for a living for 5 years. Just really lucky I guess.

So if say ElDiablo challenged you to this, you would accept? Or would you just voluntarily stop posting in OOT? Why don't we just do OOT Survivor with everyone who posts here and leave the winner as the only remaining poster?

Seriously, I realize that you're upset about your lover self-banning or whatever and are blaming me for some ridiculous reason (like you said in your email), but you're being ridiculous.

On a side note: I never feel "geeky" participating in the forums, but I feel a little poindexterish wrt to survivors. I love em; just sayin.

Iiiiiii don't know what this means.

Re: 'food in the house' - believe it or not I can actually see this. I mean, you keep food in your house, you tend to eat it, so if you exclusively eat at the chic, low-portion bistro-or-better establishments that we all are quite sure Henry patronizes, you've got a pretty solid method of calorie control. I'm sure there are better, but hey. Anyway this is a lot better than that 'people making the leap from acquaintance to friend' bit which is a pretty choke-on-a-cocky thing to say.

Ron Burgundy's recent work in this thread has been kinda solid.

I meant I don't see any value in having food in the house. There are at least 60 restaurants that are less than a 10 minutes walk (20 are less than a 3-5 minute walk) so why make food when someone else can make better food?

I keep protein bars around should I feel like a snack. I don't really like junk food but if I have a craving there is a 24 hour store downstairs. Having to go get junk food will usually make me change my mind by the time I hit the lobby. If I do buy it I'll get the small personal size and throw out any left over.

The only way morals enters the picture is that I don't like throwing food out. Wasting food feels really wrong to me. Most of the stuff I eat has a very limited shelf life so there would be a lot of waste. My GF keeps food in the house for her to snack on -- mostly vegetables which I won't eat. When I use to have a lot of parties I use to stock all the fruit and vegetable drink garnishes but parties are rare now so I've stopped. I do keep those small orange-like fruits from Morocco in the house for the few weeks they are in season.

It might be a cocky thing to say but it is also an accurate thing to say. Now granted I have no delusions that these people find me so charming that they are compelled to become stalkers. I fully realize that they become stalkers because they know I'll usually pay for the whole group and that I know a lot of hot girls and can get them laid or at least greatly increase the likelihood of that happening. I don't mind this as a night to night thing but when they start calling and keep calling even though I haven't returned any of their previous 20 calls it gets annoying. When they start showing up at places they know I frequent it gets creepy. I've been a lot more careful lately so the frequency has greatly decreased but I use to get one or two of these a month.

Heny,

He didn't say that it was 'cocky', he said it was 'choke-on-a-cocky', which I think has a completely different connotation.

Persoanlly, I think---

On a side, I would love to do a study on the effects your avatar has had in cultivating your persona, because A: Whoever picked it for you obviously knows it fits you perfectly and B: It really helps drive home your anti-rrrrrribaldry.
I suspect that without that avatar, your road to iconoclast would have been much longer journey, although you would've reached that destination either way eventually.
