Because someone from the NVG thread PM'd me for my opinion on this:

That would be a valid point before the bet was booked.
After booking, you have to explicitly confirm a request by the other party to change the terms. Everything that's not explicitly agreed on by both parties isn't part of the bet.

You can't just say "We agreed on 2:1 odds but now I feel like 20:1 is better" and proceed with those terms just because the other party didn't object.
