Many recipes will fail horrendously if you attempt to just mix the ingredient list together willy-nilly and hope for the best.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425. Lightly spray a pie pan with cooking spray. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper (to catch drips). Set both aside.
Wash, hull, and halve your strawberries and place in a mixing bowl.
To strawberries, add the zest of one lemon (no juice), brown sugar, cornstarch, and pinch of salt. Stir until well-combined. Don't worry about small clumps of cornstarch or sugar, they will dissolve in the oven.
Roll out one pie crust and gently move to prepared pie pan. Press pie crust into pan and leave overhang.
Add strawberry mixture to pie pan.
Roll out second pie crust and use a knife or cutting tool to cut 10-12 strips from pie dough. Weave strips on top of strawberry filling to make a lattice crust. Crimp top crust with bottom crust and trim extra dough from sides of pan.
Create an egg wash by breaking egg into a small dish and adding a few drops of water. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat top crust and edges with egg wash. Sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
Place pie pan on baking sheet and move to oven. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 and bake for another hour. If your crust is browning too quickly, cover with foil.
Remove from oven and let rest at room temperature for at least a few hours before cutting. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Enjoy!

I'm almost sure there used to be another OOT poster who had trouble following instructions with more than one step, too. I can't quite remember who it was though..

The main thing is that you and your daughter loved it. You should make another one following the instructions and give a joint Mlylt and daughter comparison rating of the two.

The next evolution of MLYLT cookery is obviously strawberry sauce poured over fried eggs.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...

It took you 12 full hours to fast forward through a weeks worth of security footage?

Any chance your boss figured you could have fracked the caper in an hour or two?

It took 6hrs/ 1day of footage. I got through 2 days. Yesterday afternoon I called her being bitchy after the Engr Managers email, she then said she would get the interns to watch the rest of it; she didn't say anything else about it today.

How can we keep MLY from "fixing" everything that has been working just fine for years?
I know! I'll have her watch security videos all day every day.
Great idea!

Would be funny if MLY is watching the vids and realizes, Oh **** I'M the one that changed those hoses.

I think I know why that pie filling was so bubbly MLY. Did you put some of this in there?

So all of you guys would just blindly go along with watching hours and hours of video surveillance when you're boss has literally said before in refuting considering expected value that " I just think you have to make decisions from your gut". And a boss who has taken credit your work, and made many many stupid decisions that are constantly having to be overturned. You would all just go along and do whatever stupid **** they came up with without being pissed off because they are your "boss"?
