I readily admit that The Godfather Part III does not live up to the standards of its two predecessors. But it is hardly the disaster that some make it out to be. It is a flawed masterpiece, with a handful of obvious disfigurements, but still one of the most ambitious and riveting American movies of the ’90s.

I think Sofia is a decent director. But yeah she's completely wooden in that movie.

3 a three star I suppose. Andy Garcia does a decent job.

I still think that it is totally respectable accomplishment to produce the sheer amount of posts he did in last weeks. I definitely struggle to keep-up even with reading of every thread I actually want to read.

I watched GF 1 against last night. I'm surprised that golf didn't quote Sonny talking about the black people driving Cadillacs yet.

Also, I have the same opinion about 1,2 and 3 as others but does anyone else think Miller's Crossing is better than any of them?

Uhh, no?

That's not to say that Miller's Crossing isn't great - it is, and it's definitely better than GF III - but putting it above the first two Godfathers is crazy talk.

The thing with temp-bans is that I assume their function is to give a poster a breather and send a message, in hopes that they come back and post better going forward. I see absolutely no reason to believe that golfnutt will be anything but the exact same upon return.

Had a long conversation about The Godfather and thought through what was missing in my recent, more luke-warm feeling about it. I'm turned around on that now. I realize that the truly groundbreaking aspects of it had been diluted by the very influence it had on our culture since it was made.

I'm ashamed. I was wrong.
