SCQ,

It's pretty standard.

This is destined to be the longest thread ever on 2 + 2.

This thread is pretty lol without including gregorio and thechef and without sending out a PM to the bolds indicating that this thread, and or posting conditions exist, lol.

Anyway, the timing is a bit ironic, as I leave next week and rarely even browse 2+2 on a road trip, so I won't be posting for 6 or so weeks anyway.

SoCal, let me know before next Friday if you're interested in playing some mixed triple draw at Aria next month (like 400/800 - 800/1600 max), but I'm not going to play you big bet unless it's a draw variant.

Anyway, I'll leave y'all with this:

LoL,

I don't really understand why you're restricted here but whatever. Excited about this showdown with SCQ, though, hopefully that happens when I'm in Vegas!

The line up in OP is definitely underwhelming.

Why would chef ever need containment? I get that people disagree with the way he saves money, but I always enjoy his input on any topic.

LoL,

That you don't find me appealing reassures me more than anything that I'm doing something right. If I had you in my corner, I'd have to take a serious look at myself.

El D,

I guess he's here because not only is he wide of the mark 90% of the time, he does it in a noisy, borderline bigoted (cf. pro fat shaming views) way. He argues forcefully from a position of ignorance; he's Dunning-Kruger on steroids. The main reason to castigate him is that reasonable people have a duty to prevent garbage views from propagating. More selfishly, he's tedious and difficult to ignore, so putting him out of the way is bound to improve things.

If you asked 10 other posters, you'd probably get 10+ more reasons. He's that type of poster.

This is so good for reasons chef, Ive always been a fan of you exactly because of stuff like this. Maybe ringing up bananas as steaks is healthier for you.

So how douchey was this (I'm being quarantined in order to instruct me on how to not be a douche, yes)?

Whenever I have a late night, I'll usually stop buy this 24-hour market (no, it's not Walmart, but it is a supermarket) and buy a drink or something.

Each time there's the same checkout lady, and since traffic is slow she'll always be cleaning, changing out trash bags and the list goes on. Good employee; always keeping busy and finding something to do.

It's been enough visits that she usually rings me up, and then tells me something I have no interest in hearing, but I will smile and give a "that's great" or wince and give a "that's awful" response, depending on which is appropriate, then exchange a few more words and then say goodbye.

It should seem obvious to her that because she's wearing gloves to not get **** on her hands, that the **** on the gloves the customer wouldn't want on their groceries, but the times I've seen customers get in front of me, she'll take one glove off and then ring their items up, yet she uses both hands to handle the items and uses the ungloved hand to grab the items for better grip (I presume since they are vinyl).

I never said **** because whatever, I'm getting a drink in a bottle, but last night I had to pick up some other items, like fruit and ****. I see her using a duster on my way in and then cleaners and **** (probably biodegradable, but that **** is unregulated, so who knows) upon checkout, and then she drops one glove and comes over and this convo ensues while I look at her gloved hand:

"You didn't just get done cleaning a toilet or anything (light laugh)?"
"No, no (laugh). I just wear gloves because I don't want to get dust and dirt on my hands when I'm cleaning..."

I don't say the obvious, and let her continue.

"or changing out trash bags and-"

Then she insta-light bulbs, and gives me an oh **** look, and rips the glove off using the same protocol medical professionals use (pretty impressive with that speed) and tosses the glove. Just tosses it on the floor.

She seems a little upset and gives the tongue in her cheek thing while breathing in her nose and says:

"Yeah, I should be taking the gloves off. (hands me my bags and some time passes due to ringing/bagging a few items). You are right. Thank you for asking."
"You seem bothered?"
"No, I'm not bothered. I'm just a female."
"Whaa?"

And then she tells me some story about how she wore gloves during Thanksgiving and her boss told her that she shouldn't wear them because customers might think she doesn't want to touch their groceries (I'm thinking, w/e, I don't care about you wearing gloves, I just don't want you changing out garbage bags and then touching my groceries). Then she tells me that she took the gloves off, grabbed a 25lb turkey and then injured her finger and it took months to heal and so that's what she gets.

I'm like, wince, "That sucks. Alright, well, you have a good one."

Be careful of that water there, Narcissus. It was not the McD's derail with an "advantage shopping" clown that led to containment. It was my 2 threads, and then in the pharmacy thread where I said anyone who agrees to giving the money without telling the wife is a little puss puss. I'm not subservient to my wife, nor is she to me, yet it works, go figure. 27 might be in the former group and dropped the hammer because of that, dunno.
