I call bull**** on those quoted numbers btw, no way the cheapest you found was 200. I think the most I've been quoted by a therapist is $150 for a 50 min session.

Thanks a couple of those are near me. I called and left voicemails and I'll call again on Monday. $100 a session/$400 a month is still a stretch for me though.

That shouldn't be a problem, she's fine to drive 4+ hours every weekend for something if she makes it a priority.

I'm assuming when RJ asks "are you taking your meds every day, consistently, even if you feel OK today" she means "have you been" not "are you starting today and promising to do it in the future." Since your posting was not exactly great emotionally _yesterday_ it's reasonable to question if you were on the meds then, and if not, how serious your plan to take meds every day is.

I question your desire to get help given you have money for new cars, throwing in the garbage, buying houses, etc, but not $3k a year for therapy.

It goes toward your deductible. Once your deductible is met then you only have the copay. It won't be $400 per month forever.

He was abusive and threatened me before the divorce and had threatened me ever since and if I mention it. I've tried to be civil with him. He will only pay half of the daycare and misses a lot of payments to where they would not let our daughter come and I end up having to pay for it. I need to just go file for it already. I hate having to deal with him at all.

But you let your daughter spend weekends with him, think it's important for her to have a relationship with him, etc?

He's paying half the daycare and gets your insurance (poorly? but jeez $2500 deductible doesn't sound that bad?) handled through him. But that doesn't actually seem like an appropriate level of support (idk, I've never dealt with this). You should absolutely be getting what you're entitled to and if necessary get a wage garnishment. If you need a restraining order, get one of those too.

I was not referring to today specifically, but the last few days as a whole do not speak of strong stability.

You are very quick to extremes of anger, fear, sadness, and even excitement/happiness. Given your bipolar, it's possible that chemically this is as stable as you get, but a) it's also possible a medication tweak COULD be beneficial, hence talk to your doctor and b) if this is as chemically stable as you can get, then learning behavioral tools becomes even more imperative.

Normally functioning people do not swing wildly to emotional extremes the way you still do, even medicated. I'm sure it's a significant improvement over unmedicated, but more can be done. Hence therapy.

Yup. I don't know how she is so poor. She makes somewhere between $70-$80k a year in small town Texas and lives in an absolute dump of a house.
