For example: you can take this one
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/12284/blackberry-pie-i/

Reduce the sugar for the filling to 1 tablespoon. Don't sprinkle the top with sugar. (Notice that you can't leave out the flour from the filling. You need something that is gonna to absorb all juice). And choose very carefully what you are gonna use for pie shell. You can find something so that the whole pie stays reasonable. I would also always put some semolina onto the bottom of the pie shell to prevent soaking.

If you like cheese stuff, I make often a filling from fat reduced quark, egg, some semolina, baking powder and one vanilla sugar. To this you can also add some banana pieces or raisins for sweetness. But this one has few tricks while baking and cooling down.
Just replace the sugar with Splenda and add cinnamon.

I've never heard of quark or semolina.

Knowing that dish is strawberry rhubarb cobbler I still can't figure out what is going on in that pic.

Definitely good idea with cinnamon and calorie reduced sugar substitutes.

semolina:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semolina

"Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum wheat mainly used in making pasta[1] and couscous. The word semolina can also refer to sweet dessert made from semolina and milk.[1] The term semolina is also used to designate coarse middlings from other varieties of wheat, and from other grains, such as rice and maize."

Quark:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark_(dairy_product)

"Quark is a type of fresh dairy product made by warming soured milk to 20° - 27 °C until the desired degree of curdling is met, and then straining it.[1] It can be classified as fresh acid-set cheese,[2] though in some countries it is traditionally considered a distinct fermented milk product.[3] Traditional quark is made without rennet, but in some modern dairies rennet is added.[4] It is soft, white and unaged, and usually has no salt added"

I think it is very difficult to get it in USA, although here it is staple product. I think Yak is in Belgium, so it should be there also a staple food. I hate it raw. But I actually like it in this kind of cheese cake.

Thing that shouldn't piss me off: restaurant dishes that try too hard. The cobbler with the ice cream sounds awesome, but wtf does the lime curd add to it?

Min,

It was really weird and unnecessary. Three people got that and we all just ate the cobbler and ice cream. I mean, the curd was tasty and all, but didn't really complement the cobbler and I have no idea why they decided to add that element to the dish. Very much trying too hard.

Purified wheat middlings and warmed soured milk. Maybe it's just me, but I'll pass.

NewDids,

That post just sounds ignorant.

Semolina is cream of wheat.

Quark is kinda like Greek yogurt.

Re: OOT Containment Thread, for people that post poorly

I had 2k Calories between 11:30AM and 3:00PM today, and I felt absolutely awful. Then I went to the gym and did shoulders/calves (because genetics are not kind to most calves duh) and we have never felt better.

Basically eating all of the donuts before mid day is an awful choice. But I want everyone to eat them regardless.

I think you asked for the link to that test:
http://similarminds.com/cgi-bin/newpd4.pl. I

I took it again thinking the result would be dramatically different. I initially took it while in a manic state and now I am feeling normalized. The avoidant, borderline, and dependent stayed the same and/or increased while the histrionic decreased.

It's weird how those questions can lead to these results.

Hey I scored higher on histrionic than MLYLT!

I found the randomly thrown in "are you a racist?" type questions pretty amusing.

Hahahaha....post your results! I believe everyone here is ****ed in the head in some way or another, no need to hide your craziness results.

I think the historia is more prevalent when I'm manic. Like part of my brain switches off another part becomes hyper active.
