Just looked at the OKCupid profile:
- Definitely don't say you are "learning how to be a functioning member of society" or that you are "crawling out from under the rock I used to live". I think your self-summary on the whole is a little too self-deprecating in a way that isn't going to appeal to many women.

- Don't list dating criteria. Some of these are already automatically in "I'm looking for"...repeating these and adding others comes off as snobby.

She has 2 half black kids, I think that should suffice as an explanation.

Is she black but dyes her hair in an effort to appeal to white men, or is she a white woman on black dating website?

The latter. Do you really think I would call a black chick with blonde weave a "hot blond" c'mon now.

Facebook to help me find pictures worth if I have any:
https://www.facebook.com/kevin.kuntz.547

My plan for OKC is to delete and start over. I don't like the name and need a new one I think. Plus I've answered close to a billion questions. Might need to answer less next time. Match I think I'm stuck with the name.

So here's what I want help with:
-Changing my profile and other pictures to get more attention. I'm a fairly good looking guy I've lost about 10 lbs of fat in the last 3 months and gained 10 lbs of muscle so I think I need a new photo for my profile because pretty much only fatties message me. What should I wear in it? Obviously won't be of me doing some cool activity but if I or someone else takes it at a home how can I make it great.
-Updating my summaries, about me, etc... I feel like I might be a bit too open in them but I want them to still have my personality. What can I trim or add that would make me sound more appealing/interesting?
-What should my new name be for match?

Feel free to PM or IM me(kuntzud11) if you wanna talk about it in depth. I would really appreciate any help.

I dont use online dating so yours is the first profile ive seen so take this fwiw

reading your about me was super boring. its very matter of fact, and every sentence is like the same length. it was like:

Im 25. My favorite color is blue. I enjoy to run. I also like to eat. I cook ok. I have a car.

Like fact after fact. I have no idea if thats what most profiles are like or not, but you mention you were born with a great sense of humor and then the about me is very devoid of any.

my 2 cents.

Amazin,

That's pretty crazy. How old are you?

OP your pics are all really bad.

They are all blurry
In your main one you are sweaty or something. None of that is helping you for sure. Remove all talk of weaknesses, attraction to opposite sex

a ball?

I think an exclamation point after beer makes it seem more fun, and less like you're an alcoholic. Also, every girl on the planet watches the Kardashians, don't alienate your fanbase!

Amazin,

Ok 20 to 25 makes sense for maybe looking reasonably different. Or maybe she's just been through a truckload of black dudes and can't keep track.

We only chilled 3 times or so. I'm still waiting on her response, she's definitely going to remember me.

1) It's standard for the guy to get the girl's number and do the calling/texting from there
2) Watching football games is a risky first date. Maybe she only casually enjoys football and embellishes how much she likes it since she thinks it will help get her attention. Imo first date should always be something simple and cheap like coffee (I used to do drinks but coffee is so much cheaper and I really don't give a **** whether booze is involved or not.)

A few years ago I texted this girl I had met at a bar back and forth for a bit trying to arrange a date. One night she asked me what I was doing and I told her I was going to watch game 7 of the Red Sox-Rays series at a Sox bar and she could come by if she liked. I had no idea whether she liked baseball but she was from MA, so I figured it was possible she'd actually be interested and if not she'd decline. Then she showed up 100% dressed for a date and never even looked at the TV's. I kinda kept one eye on the game and the other on her and did a kickass job pretending to listen, but it was a lol date. I guess I should note she was kinda ******ed, but the vibe wasn't romantic at all, and it wasn't a fun experience.

Fortunately I was able to get a better date w/ her later, but the only sports date I would do now is like take a girl to a Knicks game and plan to not pay close attention to the game. But I'd wait until at least the 3rd or so date for that.

if you guys want to help him out, let's all send him a message.
if he doesn't reply to them he'll get a red dot by his name.
those things are pussy magnets.

as for the profile itself, some small changes would help.
less is usually more. here's my take...

My Self Summary:
I have a car, job, live by myself and have a basic understanding of how to cook. On the surface it sure looks like I'm a normal human being, but this is okcupid so I'll understand if you have some reservations.

I've got a great family, a close knit group of friends and I'm definitely guilty of getting a bit too comfortable with what I've got, so I'm forcing myself out into the wild to try and bag me a woman and maybe broaden my social circles while I'm at it.

I've been doing a lot of golfing and basketball lately, and going to the gym pretty regularly so if you do any of those things too it would be great, but pretending to care works just as well.

What I'm Doing With My Life:
Working as a server in Dublin.
Will be going back to school to finish up my degree in Chemical Engineering.

... and delete everything else except the movies/tv/food thing.

also... reconsider which match questions you want to be public.

either delete or make all of the controversial / explicit ones private.
unless you feel really strongly about it.

but, you know... i don't see why women need to know that you aren't willing to kiss her after she sucked you off, but you decided to mention it.

and you admitted that you lied in the past about your sexual history to a partner. there's no way that's a positive. either they think you're a **** head for lying, or an idiot for not lying on the profile. you're better off just not answering it.

I've been having a decent amount of success getting replies by picking up on something random on girls' profiles that I have a vague interest in or some amount of foundational knowledge about and typing really excitedly about it, using lots of exclamation points and such. Have gotten a number every time I've gotten a reply so far except once. Getting actual dates is the tricky part for me, tho. Only one commitment so far.

This is way better but the tone is still a bit negative since you based it on hisoriginal one. Inthink a completely new one is in order. He doesnt have to say he had an awful life and is tryingto change. Just say what youre doing now that you like imo.

Again, just forget everything you have on there and start fresh. You dont have to put something negative before or after everything.

And why wouldnt the picture be out somewhere? Its justbm opinion but i think home shots are the worst. Specially webcam pics. Impossible not to look like a creep in those.

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague. I've had a profile (on and off) for the last year and a handful of months.

First week, I start talking to this girl and it was amazing. I had a pretty meh profile but it was cool. Things didn't work out, but hey, it happens. I ended up meeting a couple of other girls (one as a FWB) and eventually had a 6 month relationship with a girl.

After that relationship ended, I was using it with meh success over the summer and had 2-3 other girls that I met off line. I got into a relationship with a girl who wasn't on the site and I shut my profile down.

Fast forward to September and I reactivated. My response rate is down a bunch and the number of girls that I messaged a few times never materialized into meeting offline. I've also had a lot of one responses and never heard from them again.

So, here is my profile: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/itsmecuey
Rip away.
