Be excellent. Be desireless. Be gone.

Write the profile for you. Not for them. I'm really rooting for you OP. Just had a friend go from divorced twentysomething to Plenty o fishy superstar.

Your profile needs to "stand out". Seperate yourself from every other kid who wants to play baseball, loves Harry Potter, and "hits the weights". bro.

When they open their mouths. To speak, I mean.

Unless they're the mother of your children and truly, deeply LOVE you, you are being **** tested, quite seriously, 100% of the time. That's not a joke. Women are ALWAYS assessing everything, even subconsciously. They kinda have to, if you think about it.

You give them elbow room, they'll take the whole seat. If they sense that you're not a real man even in the slightest, in due time they'll straight-up walk all over you. Russian women are especially notorious for this. If you can take charge with a Russian woman, you win at the game.

Pretty sure this "testing" applies to everyone, not just women.

All humans are frequently assessing each other on this subconscious level. It's how you decide who you want to hang out with.

In a monogamous relationship the stakes are obviously higher, so the level of scrutiny is higher.

Sabr. Back in the day my online profile was kinda similar to that, except sillier. I had all kinds of girls contacting me. I never had any girls initiate contact with me before....when my profile was more standard. I ended up marrying one of the girls who liked my funny profile that made her curious about me.

To be fair, the goofyness at least kind of fit my personality and I'm not convinced it does with seymour...so you may still have a point. But anything is better than "be as boring and plain jane as possible" which his first version kind of was. Need to loosen up a bit and at least try to be kind of funny or creative.

Nice, my sister just moved out to Cali, so I'm probably going to go out there to visit her soon. Your transition was easier than mine though, no climate change. I miss winter :-(

What's the most fun you've had in Tampa?

BTW, I my profile I lied about my height. I'm 5 11, 6 foot in sneakers, so I just said I was 6 feet. Sounds so much better.

I'm not saying be boring and plain, but imo you can say interesting and fun things without it being so cheesy.

Maybe it works for some people, but it just seems out of place for OP.

There is some truth to this, BUT if you are out having fun I would answer and either be busy or get her to come out. If you are home alone and answer the phone, LIE.

I try not to answer too anxious in texts, but if you get a text at 2 or 3am you don't have much time to try and play hard to get.

edit: what I mean is I disagree with not answering, but definitely don't act like you are super available.

I actually do have a good sense of humor, although it's eccentric. Problem is I'm so shy that most people who don't know me well never get to see it.

I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't even bother trying to come up with questions that elicit interesting answers and just do **** like "how do you like it here? what's the most fun you've had here? what are you up to tonight?" if it's working for guys like amazin. Then again, most of my female friends that are on/were on OKCupid said their priorities go: looks, profession, salary, how funny are they in their intro.

How do you feel about lying about how much you make?

Meh, you won't get caught on that.

I met my wife online. Before she met me she went on 1 date with someoen who lied about their height. They said they were 5'10 and they were 5'3. You don't get away with that.

I would lay off the poker stuff till you've met in person. Even if it's not a big negative for most women, it's not gonna be interesting for them and makes you seem kind of dull.

Also, if you're looking for a relationship then you get what you pay for when it comes to online dating. Much better class of woman on the paid sites imo.

Agree with the suggested profile on here, you have to come across as fun. This is like your CV, it needs to stand out.

Being shy hopefully won't be an issue, you can get over that initial awkwardness as you do the initial meet online. When you meet in person you know she's interested so don't be too nervous, you're halfway there. If it doesn't work out then there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Best of luck.

My 1st date online was when I was like 15-16 yrs old. Its not like I wanted it, the girl just found me on yahoo profiles and added me.
She used to talk so much nasty **** online and used to act so gangsta
It was cool to talk ghetto back then.
finally met irl, realized she was a Catholic school girl
And shy as ****. I dumped her after 3rd date.
I couldnt believe how shy she was irl

And that was the last time I did it! Good times

I loled but it's true. Emoticons seem emasculating to me. Fine to use on here with a bunch of angry nerds who we're not trying to get naked but weak in the course of an exchange with a woman. They can't help a first impression.

I dont think your profile is too big of a deal. As long as it's passable and you dont say anything weird youll be ok.

Just message tons of girls, youll get some responses, and eventually you'll hit it off with someone.

At least that's what worked for me

People who are saying the profile looks fake: Girls definitely prefer this profile over most other ones. Not sure why but for myself and everyone who's done online datin I know they've had way more success with a profile like this.
