You act like you've never been on a date where the girl tells you she has a penis 4 drinks in.

eh I think it depends but I think being honest about age is the better play no?

Depends on where that penis is,tbh.

If it's at work,at home with the kids,in a drawer someplace,no problem.

idk, I have no problem getting matches with 7s+. And I have a pretty high conversion rate to dates. I just suck IRL.

Works in finance, lied about her location, no pictures with friends, lots of work talk, doesn't drink - that seems like some tough sledding in building attraction and rapport

I'm moving to a new city. It's a downgrade in size but everyone says it's a great place, and there's a major university there so a lot of the population is well educated at least (I'm too old to take advantage of the student population. Maybe older grad students at the low end of my range.) I've had a lot of success with bumble in the past 6 months so I figured I'd at least have a nice new profile rush for the first week or two.

Swiped for about 30 minutes and I'm through the entire city. Can't expand range cause it's over 50 miles to the next largest city. How ****ed am I?

Not cool at all to post pics of the girl on your blog presumably without her permission

Not sure where you are, but I’ve been in areas where I ran out in one day and got a decent supply of refreshed options over the following days. What’s the population? Also, I would def get on Hinge too and probably pay for it

Dating in America must be interesting (possibly frustrating?) due to its very localised populations outside of obvious gigantic metro areas like NY, LA etc. Here in London there is a just a sprawling mass of about 12 million people with probably half a million girls living in an accessible area to me even just south of the city limits.

I couldn’t imagine ever running out of people. The flip side of course is that the girls have the same huge amount of choice too!

Agreed - speaking from personal experience, 2p2ers can find out who someone is from just a single pic and trainwreck them very quickly

Deleted.

I wrote it on everynote so it's easy to delete after getting feedback.

Looks like 50k officially with another 50k within the suburban sprawl. So like 10% of what I'm used to. I didn't realize it was that bad. I might try hinge again but in DC it was full of left swipes and even my bumble options here were more left swipes proportionally so I don't have much hope that it will be better this time.

I've seen the difference in results a 33 and '28' year old man with an otherwise identical profile receives. I know what I'll be sticking to.

Hmm, I guess if a 28 year old guy and a 33 year old guy were going for 23 year old girls the 28 year old would have the clear advantage, but I reckon if they were both going for 28 year old girls there wouldn’t be too much difference.

Overall, things get a lot tougher for 37 year old guys compared to 32 year old guys than for 33 year old guys compared to 28 year old guys imo

driver's license is sorted (covid bureacratic nightmare) so will start driving out to visit some friends in new england area as well as mix in some dates where i drive an hour to get coffee and discover she's 40 pounds heavier than any of her bumble pics

went to brother's wedding this weekend, wasn't ever about trying to pair off but it was an interesting situation as it was first time being surrounded by younger people outside my family since returning - one of major downsides of being in the middle of nowhere

feels like i still got it with americans, which sounds weird to say it but even though i mostly socialized with fellow expats while abroad it was still a super diverse crew where there'd be swedes and germans mixed in etc and nobody ever discussed mortage or daycare during their few sober hours - it's tough to explain but the reverse culture shock is a real thing

got a bunch of unsolicited flirtation from a few of the larger women which was able to politely ignore without any drama - there were really only a few options i was kind of into and they all seemed uninterested or paired off when we spoke but also didn't really pursue either

a gay man who was in a long term relationship with one of the other groomsmen got it in his head that i was closeted and proposed a secret blowjob, which when i asked about what made him think i'd be into that, he misunderstood to be flirting and when i politely ignored he kept going on about it to where i just walked away and started talking to some others - i can kinda get how banging the closeted brother of the groom could be bucket list stuff but it was weird and a bit concerning a good friend of my brother is in a long term relationship with someone who cheats on him - unsure if i should tell my brother when his honeymoon is over - feel like i should because the cheater's boyfriend is an awesome guy (and he definitely made it clear they didn't have any sort of arrangement where it was ok to stray) but also think that's just a bunch of needless drama that's best avoided and that guy will figure it out sooner or later anyway

but yeah, writing not about online because that's dead, it's now sending me mostly women from NH and northern Mass and I'm obviously out of their swipe range because they'd be insane to do 100 miles from an actual place with people and things have dried up immensely

may meet up with a few matches this week, now with car that's viable but not really into any of them that are talking back, just about getting things wet at this point

Did the guy have a beard? Cause getting a beej in the dark isn't necessarily gay, it's like a vag with extra suction if you think about it.

No love in online dating, everyone's solid.

Like poker, it would be better if there were no more than like a couple of major sites. Maybe existing sites could find a way to combine pools somehow.
