I don't think that means anyone has a shot though. Don't women tend to like terrible guys? Aren't many of those guys good looking?

Or Dc can stop crying and fix whatever issue is causing him to be single .

Basically it’s like you complaining that your fat while still eating McDonald’s for every meal and not exercising

In all fairness McDonald’s coffee is pretty damn good.

Sorry to hear that. Just keep your head up and you'll be good. 2 months isn't too bad, at least not compared to my 20+ year dating stretch. Best of luck!

If you look at my Bumble and Tinder matches, they aren’t much better, DC. Of course, I’m extra picky. It’s all about Hinge for me, though. I’m not the tall, muscular guy either, though I’ve got some things going for me.

My brother, on the other hand, has some extra pounds, doesn’t live that well, has no style, isn’t personable, has a negative attitude, hasn’t been to the dentist in more than a decade, and he’s hooking up off dating apps. The best thing he has going for him is cute pets. So you can definitely do this, DC. Maybe get a cute pet, or learn to play an instrument, or something you can do to establish value and connect over.

I've been getting a few matches recently but none of them messaged me, so I've revamped my profile, removing most of the text, leaving a more bare bones profile. I also removed my height, politics, religion, etc. (I had added them 6 to 8 months ago).

I already had a photo of one of my dogs on my profile. He's an exotic dog and people often stop their cars to ask me about him. Obviously hasn't helped in the dating game though. I could lose 20lbs but you can't tell in my photos and I'm fairly stylish I think.

I paid for a few months of hinge upon recommendations of this thread and only matched with one bot and everyone else on there was ugly. I'm banned from Tinder, if memory serves me correctly for saying I was considering voting for Ted Cruz in 2016.

I don’t think removing your height will help on Bumble. I think it will automatically keep those with height parameters set from seeing you. Bumble seems quirky to me in that the more you try to limit or withhold info, the less matches you see.

I used to include at least one pic of my dog in my profile (back when I was online dating) and was surprised at how little it seemed to help with matches or start up a conversation.

Not to derail, but what kind of dog(s) do you have?

I have a Central Asian Shepherd (aka Alabai) and a Rottweiler. I have a pic of my Alabai in my profile. I didn't realize he was cute when I got him..had I wanted a "cute" dog I would have gotten a Caucasian Shepherd or a Tibetan Mastiff. However, women in my neighborhood stop all the time to ask me about him and tell me how cute he is.

And you say thanks, why don’t you come by my place Saturday at 8 and you can scratch his belly?

Yeah seriously that is the easiest opener ever. Plus women inherently trust a guy more who has a cute dog.

Got back on hinge for the first time in a long time and like 19 out of 20 and women (not an understatement) are very obese (not just needing to lose 20lbs).

Also, doesn't seem to be too diverse. Just swiped on 14 African-American women in a row.

That would be creepy but all the women in my neighborhood are married anyways.

If I remember correctly, Hinge stacks the deck from Worst to Best to maximize the action for the lower end chicks.

Yeah, that's sort of the impression I've been getting. Maybe it's people with least likes/matches up front. It's a lot of work to get through all these big girls though.

I've been having a decent amount of success getting replies by picking up on something random on girls' profiles that I have a vague interest in or some amount of foundational knowledge about and typing really excitedly about it, using lots of exclamation points and such. Have gotten a number every time I've gotten a reply so far except once. Getting actual dates is the tricky part for me, tho. Only one commitment so far.

If I ever get through the hundreds of fatties in my area, I might really like this Hinge app. Definitely has better features than bumble and being able to type something to them is cool even though I have no clue what to say to women.

I ended up adding my height/religion/etc back to my bumble profile after the algorithm seemed to put me even lower on the totem pole. I do have a pending match on there with a 22 yr old that looks like she's probably overweight but it was difficult to tell. I fully expect that she will not msg me.

Just started watching the new season of Beauty and the Geek Australia. The geeks are each probably banging multiple chicks on the show. Not nearly geeky enough!

Fatties need love too, its good dating karma to throw it to a land monster.

Don't be so picky now, just go with what you can get.

We all can't be Gaddy and getting Asian tang on the reg.
