6) BE cool in message process, take your time responding, establish a witty banter for about 4 to 5 messages and ask for her number.
7) Don't be a weirdo on the phone call and you'll have yourself a date.

Main things are confidence, keeping things playful, and leading the conversation.

^Yep savant it's nailed

Moreso online, you won't always get a reply even you wrote an awesome message. Some aren't serious, don't know what to say, other reasons, etc
This is why it's harder to get things going with a specific girls online
Live (can't believe I said that) it's easier to get instant results, but it's harder to do the approaching

That's why it can take some mass-messaging to get results. I'm not serious about online dating and it's kind of a pointless hobby for me I do to get better self esteem, I get replies from about 1 in 3-4 in my current location, my profile pics are very good in that I've got pictures from cool activities, exotic locations, and with other girls. I always open with making fun of something on their profile (playful). You're never going to get as good success % from good online game as good live game so yeah sent lots of messages and try different things, gl

Or you could just rehost the pictures elsewhere so someone isn't a psycho and notifies her of the thread

Meh. I disagree, because I see hot chicks all the time. They can't all be fake pics.

Savant, do you believe it's always best to speak to the girl on the phone before asking her out on a date?

Only 3 girls I'm chatting with on their. I don't think I'm doing badly, but I'm being too bland at times.

1 - lol
2 - wtf-face
3 - fat

Don't be sad, this is basically the 3 categories of online dating.

Images don't work but going to the image url showed them.

I'll take them. Obviously I'd like hotter but you gotta start somewhere. I'm in a strange city with no family. The loneliness is overwhelming...

25 Years old, recently relocated to the Tampa Bay area from NYC. I moved down here for work and to train to play professional baseball. Enjoy bike riding, working out, reading, following sports, sightseeing, traveling, etc. Looking to meet new people as Tampa is still new to me. I am very hard working and don't have time for games or drama. I don't have any children, but if you do, that's fine with me. Between work and baseball I do not have a lot of free time, so I'm looking to spend quality time with someone. I'm looking for a serious relationship, not sex partners.

This is what I wrote in my "About me" On POF. OKcupid seems to have a more in depth personal profile than POF.

Like someone said you want to appear to be easy going, fun loving guy. So I would lose the "don't have time for games or drama." and "I'm looking for a serious relationship, not sex partners." easy going guy wouldnt be worrying about those things.

Don't be picky , bang a fattie or 2 for some confidence. You'll find it much easier to chat up women after that.

imo no

unless you're good at phone conversations, its pretty easy for it to get awkward. Text a few times to get comfortable, then ask on a date.

Yes, it's always best. It's part of the screening for creepers process for the girl. You want her to come into the date relaxed.

Is shyness a reason why your reluctant to call? If so, there is nothing wrong with thinking about what you want to talk about before you call. It's the same deal as the messages confidence, fun, playful.

One tip to help with confidence, is don't put the girl on a pedistal. You're trying to find out if she is a good match for you as much as the other way around. Your not trying to trick her into banging you or anything like that. Your just looking to have a good time. Before you place the call, make sure your in a good place mentally. Nothing wrong with what your doing so there is not need to feel awkward.

This needs to be fixed up to include more personality and emotion. E.G.,

Just moved to Tampa from NYC. (Include Sentence about something personal you love about Tampa, but still trying to find a place to find a decent slice of pizza [this gives the girl something to respond to from your profile]) I moved here to pursue my dream of playing professional baseball (include a personal sentence about why your passionate about baseball, and another one about freedom or taking the road less traveled or somehthing like that).

Traveling is my favorite past time. Most recently I visited ____. The _____ there is blew my mind! Also, if you haven't tried (exotic food) I highly recommend it.

The bane of my existence is the New York Mets. I often feel like I'm Charlie Brown and the Mets are Lucy holding the football. I'll say this though, Mets fans have waaaaay more character than Yankees fans! (again conversation starter for the girl as [I think at least] there are a lot of Yankees fans in Tampa)

My favorite stress relievers are going for a bike ride (along some place in Tampa) then hitting the weight room after.

Lose the lines about being new to Tampa and hating drama. After all no one likes drama and you already said more colorfully that you are new to Tampa. Replace lines with a sentence about TV, Movies, or a pop culture reference. Also here include something about your favorite book, and why you like it (again make it personal).

Change the line about children to,
Fun facts about me:
1) Pets and Kids universally love me.
2) (a very strong opinion about an unimportant subject. e.g. I believe sterofoam to be the worst substance ever created.
3) (an example of something your good at) e.g I can probably beat you a Words with Friends.
4) (A playful example of something your not good at) e.g. You probably have better handwriting than me or I'm incapable of pronouncing the names of IKEA furniture.

Lose the lines about sex partners, quality time, and how busy you are and replace them with what you find attractive.

e.g. I'm attracted to a girl who:
1) Can make me laugh.
2) Likes to explore and take day trips.
3) (insert something fun) e.g. Has quality taste in pajamas

Hope that helps.

Savant, All good suggestions for improvement.

Amazin, that profile of yours is lousy. Would you date you? If that were a girl's profile on there I would move on and have no interest. It's not about filling out an application. You are selling yourself and are competing with others.

Also, your reason for moving was for the baseball thing? Color me surprised. Wasn't aware of that.

Keep phone calls to under 15 minutes, preferably under 10 minutes. Have a good out to the conversation, like doing something interesting or just going out. Shows you have value, keeps the conversation flowing but not going on too long

Savant, excellent work, thank you.

Microbob, no, that was not my reason for moving. My reason for moving was Black Friday. Once I got down to Tampa and met all these baseball players I got jealous and... voila!

Guess I'll be the first person ITT to be a dick, but even if this girl was hot, this would still be a horrible pic to use on a dating site. My standards are far more reasonable than 99% of 2p2, but honestly, the less attractive girls that have messaged me first have usually had boring profiles and not tried whatsoever to make me laugh in their messages. I'm probably a 4-4.5 on a good day, but at least I know that and try. NSFW-ish

Just moved to Tampa from New York City. One thing I love about Tampa is the laid back, quiet, suburban atmosphere. It's a welcome change after living in NYC your whole life! I moved here to pursue my dream of playing professional baseball. I'm passionate about baseball because I think baseball exemplifies the timeless freedom I've sought throughout my life. I've always been a person who was into taking the road less traveled, than settling for a 9 to 5.

Traveling is my favorite past time. I most recently visited the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. Swimming in the Finger Lakes is an experience I'll never forgot! I love trying new and exotic foods. I also love risk takers, so let's go out and have some Fugu together!

The bane of my existence is the New York Mets. I often feel like I'm Charlie Brown and the Mets are Lucy holding the football. I'll say this though, Mets fans have waaaaay more character than Yankees fans

My favorite stress relievers are going for a bike ride along Lettuce Lake Park then hitting the weight room after.

My favorite TV show is Boardwalk Empire, been following it since it first aired. For humor, I'm a fan of the Office. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series. Yea, I read children's books ;-)

Fun facts about me:
1) Pets and Kids universally love me.
2) I believe that running is the worst thing in the history of mankind, and is tantamount to Chinese water torture. Not that I've experience the latter!
3) I can whip you in a game of poker any day of the week!
4) (A playful example of something your not good at) e.g. You probably have better handwriting than me or I'm incapable of pronouncing the names of IKEA furniture.

I'm attracted to a girl who:
1) Can make me laugh.
2) Likes to explore and take day trips.
3) Has a quality taste in movies

Savant, what do you think?

just kinda skimmed over this thread but online dating is ridiculously easy and there are definitely some hot girls online. i'm probably luckier than average because i live less than a mile from a party university and the bar district which accompanies it which attracts hot ass from all over the place but i could go out with a solid 6 or 7 any night of the week if i really wanted to register for all the sites and play the game.

you can game select as hard as you want, you can take the time to craft quality messages to break the ice and build rapport online which makes the live transition super easy, if her response sucks you can blow her off, rejection is easier to handle, etc. it's just the optimal way to do it if you lack game but aren't a total dipsht.

again, my sample is skewed a bit but if you give me a choice between going out to bars to pick up or use the web, i'll take the latter pretty much always. i have exactly zero game and i'm 5'9" and skinny so it's not like i'm Patrik Antonius or something. if i had success anyone can.
