Texted/called but afaik my # isn't connected to my LI profile. Maybe just a massive coincidence/serendipity

So is that a no to a date with MLY?

Spoiler:
Honestly, doing the opposite of anything M posts regarding relationships and dating is always the correct move. She has a completely delusional and warped view on both of those things

My OKCupid account got suspended. Honestly no idea why. Don't recall sending any "edgy" messages that could have led to suspension. Weird.

HNY online daters, early app activity in january would suggest we are in for nice harvest this month, already got a few very interesting prospects on the go. Promising!

Just got back on OKC after a 7-month break - not a fan of plain 1st names for SN (I got a lot of cold opens based on my SN). What's the consensus on here - use first name or get creative?

Just had a coffee date today I thought went poorly but the girl is texting me back after and doesn’t seem flakey. I’ve been torn on coffee dates as my last one... the chick never responded to me when I messaged her after and I felt she wasn’t the most attractive girl that should shun me.

I have another date lined up later this week with a chick I’m not interested in physically but she has similar interests as me so might try to add her as a friend bc I just moved back to my hometown for work.

Random, do you guys feel most girls have sex before dating officially now? I feel like that’s a yes but might take a couple of dates. I offered a grab drinks date to this chick and she said let’s grab coffee instead which I felt kinda sucked. I feel she could be prude but I’ll have to find out. I feel majority of girls I’ve dated put out before dating officially so just wondering if this is pretty standard now (i feel it is but prolly honestly depends on the girl).

Do you mean will some girls **** before calling the guy her boyfriend?
That's a definite yes.

Not sure what exactly you mean by "dating officially" though.

Never been a fan of coffee dates (unless I've known her for more than a month or so), especially as first dates/meetups.

Where do you live? In big cities in the US, that has been the case for at least the last 25 years.

If you're in small town middle America, you might still need to go steady and give her your letter jacket or a promise ring first.

My brother said online dating was unusually brutal. He is good looking and successful in his profession. I would meet people through friends and family...better filter. Heard good things about Tinder for casual sex....which sounds like something I would be interested in.

I always offer the coffee/dinner option and or combo when it comes down to making plans. Then whichever they're legitimately more comfortable with they can select.

But I don't consume alcohol so the whole "going out for drinks thing" is literally never an option for me because lol please no.

Damn I'm pissed I won't get to take advantage of the New Year's harvest this year.

I've been preparing for my February/March Mexico trip by pipelining a little bit on the language exchange site. It's technically not "online dating", but there are dozens of people wanting to learn English from Mexico City on the site, so I just select girls around my age from Mex City. Anyway, girls there seem pretty crazy about Americans and I've already moved off the site to Facebook, WhatsApp, or Skype with about 15 girls.

I might not have to even use Tinder there b/c I'll already be busy enough, but I'm sure that's an absolute gold mine for a gringo with decent Spanish. A couple of the girls I'm chatting with are very attractive (one is a part-time model, another a dancer/singer) and some are moderately attractive, but seem cool and interested in showing me around various neighborhoods, which will be nice in a country where I know zero people.

I used to hate coffee dates. I think they only really work as a quick line check that the other person might be potentially interesting.

I think the word for 'officially dating' the kids use now is 'exclusive'.

Haha I offered a date to grab drinks and she brought up coffee date idea bc she doesn’t drink. Yea my question was kinda derpy. This chick doesn’t drink so I feel she might be prudish ha. I don’t know many people that don’t drink at all.

And call me crazy, I’m not going to spend a lot on a chick to impress her. I’ve had some lolbad experience on dating apps (due to my low self esteem and other **** prolly) so I feel trying to spend a lot on a girl on a first date is extremely stupid.

I live in Syracuse ny so kinda mid to small city. I really hate online dating in small cities. When I travel to Boston/ nyc for a weekend, I get so many hot matches that’s look interesting and like fun. Where I live, even the attractive chicks typically seem boring and I feel are less likely to talk bc they are in higher demand in a small city. I would love living in Boston/nyc bc I feel I could date so many girls I find interesting and attractive. The thing I hate about online dating is I get a solid # of matches etc.... but the girls where I live don’t do it for me. I like hipsterish chicks and or big city type chicks and they don’t exist in Syracuse or Albany ny lol.

Guys you don't get it yet that coffee dates are essentially pre-date dates to see if you are good enough for a real date. So y'all been suckered.

Non-drinkers should love that policy - it leaves all the non-drinkers to them!

Who wants to spend an evening buying a woman expensive drinks when you don't even know yet if she's into you?
