Positive variance or is it a better look for me?

No way is that a better look; shave immediately.

You rated him a 5 clean shaven, what would you rate him with a beard?

You look a bit older with the beard, definitely think it's a good look for you although you're a decent looking guy regardless.

If I showed up on her Tinder she would throw her phone across the room in disgust.

Thanks.

I think maybe it's a more polarizing look, which is beneficial for Tinder because at least a small group will be really into it. Anyway, I'll stick with it for another couple of weeks and see what it looks like more grown in and how it affects my dating life.

Fossil, most likely, but don't feel too bad. She's a tough grader

Did I say he was a 5 before? The beard pic brings your other pic to a 7, maybe that's what happens. The gross beard made your other pics more attractive.

I believe you said he was a 5 and would swipe left

When someone accuses you of being mean-spirited sometimes, and you're in doubt whether you truly are, just reread this.

I am definitely not trying to be mean. I didn't say he was gross, I said the beard was gross. It grosses me out thinking about gross rough hair touching me.

The difference between "I don't find the beard appealing", and "That beard is gross", might not be clear to you, so take it from me: the latter is rude and will make you look mean-spirited.

MLYLT,

What GMLAW said.

ETA: Think of it this way: your gross stomach fat grosses me out and the thought of your loose flabby gross arm skin makes me want to puke. That't not to say anything about you specifically though!

Am I correct in assuming, based on interactions in the fat-off thread and others, that you wouldn't react particularly well to the above?

I apologize for coming off as mean spirited and see that I could have used different phrasing. Please don't take it personal, I just find beards gross and many other women might as well.

I think you look better without, but I don't think it makes that much difference for any guy tbh.

It's all perspective. I grew a beard for fun last year during No Shave November and my wife won't let me shave it. I keep it neatly trimmed and well groomed so it's not one of these that are way out of hand.

Here is a pic for reference. I don't really see an issue as long as it kept well and not santa looking but as I said, it's all perspective.

Mega,

I think the beard pic you put up has a creeper feel with the angle/lighting but a better pic would show you could go either way.

Speaking of beards, there is a guy that is crushing on me at work. He keeps coming to my office playing dumb, asking me to review his work and asking all sorts of questions. He's a sweet guy, but has a scrappy beard that is just not appealing to me. How do I get rid of him in a nice way, so that I can sit in my office in peace and read 2+2?
