The divide on opinion on this on Reddit seems 50/50.

I prefer silence myself.

Except I send chatty messages to good matches far away, just for ****s and grins. They usually get nice answers, I'm clear I'm not asking for a date. Just telling them I would be.

How many messages are you sending in a day?

I think I've only got that message once and the excuse was that I lived too far away (30 minutes, but diff cities). I don't spam a ton of messages though and am usually pretty picky.

This is my first "date" in 8 years -- first since a super awkward lunch with a girl I liked in high school, which I since have erased from my mind. Half my downtime has been devoted to googling dating tips. Everything is new to me.

I assume this is the video...

Called a girl out for giving crappy answers and not asking me anything. She blamed my questions , which is partially true because she wasn't giving me anything to work with. Tinder problems.

Still convinced that site has ruined real online dating. Too many 6s getting attention from 9s. Too easy to get distracted. Being on a mobile device leans towards one sentence responses.

1) I asked out big boob blonde Tinder cutie (we shall call her BBB) for Saturday. Got a "might work blah blah blah my friend's birthday so I might have a bday party."

Might have a bday party? Guarantee friend has been planning that for weeks if it's true, so I straight up tell her I don't play the maybe game. Is there a good night for her and I'll try to fit her in.

She figured out a day and we've got a date.

2) Girl on POF got back to me two weeks after disappearing. Claims she doesn't get on POF when not at school lol. Her profile says she's very traditional dating one at a time. Again, good excuse with school but obv the guy she was seeing didn't work out. I just cut the BS and asked her out for Saturday.

I hid my POF, OKC, and Tinder accts for now. Communicating with too many ATM.

Not that many, mostly on Sundays. Seems to be the thing 35-45 y/o's do (I haven't been outside their age range FWIW).

el Diablo,

totally disagree with regards to girls flaking. In my personal experience i've been flaked on 4-5 times directly and have had friends experience simliar.

I'd say flake percentage is somewhere in area of 25 percent, if we include anything that wasn't reschduled. maybe even higher.

also 2.5 miles is a pretty sick situation and can't be all that common except in the biggest/best cities.

not very realistic to compare the wittiest guy on the internet's flake rate to that of us mere mortals

Girl from tinder who I've hung out with a handful of times, most than any other girl recently told me she was going to unmatch me on Tinder when we were hanging out at her place. She claims she accidentally went to my Tinder profile the other day and didn't like seeing I had recently been on the app, so she'd rather avoid that mind**** all together. That proves she's super into me, but does that also raise a slight red flag for some of you, or is jealousy sometimes good? I don't believe for a minute she accidentally went to my profile, she was on a mission.

It's not a red flag if you like her and are interested in a relationship. She's catching feels. Basically her warning signal.

"Accidentally"--why is she even on the APP? I'd start running.

Personally that would rub me the wrong way bigtime.

Signals it's time to DTR (define the relationship)

Yea I can definitely since that DTR conversation coming next time we hang out. She's headed to New York this weekend but we've planned on seeing each other at least once before she leaves this Friday. I like her, I do but I've also adopted this mindset where I don't want to rush anything. I've made that mistake far too many times in the past, diving into stuff far too quickly and obviously its never worked out since I'm still single. Totally dreading this convo if and when it comes up but I know when it does I have to be straight with her, which includes letting her know she's not the only girl I'm dating or talking to or hanging out with, whatever kids label that **** these days.

Anyone willing to look over my tinder profile? Having decent success, but feel like I could be doing better.

Vibe far better personality-wise IME. Until this year, a lot less likely to be flakes as well. I'm easily the least picky poster ITT- age range is like 21-50 something, all ethnicities, just no hardcore right wingers, Christians, gay badgers or massively unhealthy women

Ya no kidding. I don't know anything about Tinder but didn't she have to be on the app to accidentally go to your profile?

So are you suggesting that I message her in hopes of restarting the convo?
An update on this, I did message her back and she said she was super busy. She then said with finals coming up I might go into hibernation. She then deletes her account a few hours later before I have a chance to respond.

lol 50 something's. Even I'd draw the line there, and this is coming from a guy who banged a chick who was approaching 300 pounds

It's actually much more difficult than that. You have to open the app...then click the button at the top to switch from swipes to matches...then click the person's profile...then wait for it to reload with how long it's been since they last used the app. It's literally impossible to check it accidentally.
