PR,

Rippin' pretty much nailed the type of characteristics you'll need to bring to the table to balance your other traits of being short, weak, overweight, and not good looking.

If you want your MBA to be a positive trait in a dating context, you should go to Harvard Business School instead of whatever night school you're going to.

But you've said you don't want my help making your profile successful, and you are correct that in your present state you are never going to get a hot girl. So I think we're pretty much done here and there's no reason for you to post any more and continue tarding up this thread.

No one here disagrees with this. Once you get the date, your profile means zippy.

If changing physical appearance didn't count, I'd want:

1. Dress well
2. Have natural ability to "put people at ease"
3. Be funny
4. Confidence
5. Charm

Think you're wrong. Funny and Confidence go a long way.

Firstly you have done an extremely convincing impression of someone who has a terrible sense of humour so congrats on that!

Secondly as far as treated girls good and being a 'nice person' that sort of stuff does not get girls in the sack, it only keeps them in a LTR. I also suspect your 'niceness' is of the cloying, saccharine, overt type rather than just being a good respectful human being that treats other as he would like to be treated. Girls like the latter much more than the former.

As for characteristics to help you. Being rich will definitely help you **** a hot chick, although if you're just rich you aren't going to get in to a LTR with a hot and nice/smart girl.

A high quality girl is going to want to hang out with high quality people, so having a group of smart talented friends who likes to do fun things will help you.

Having a massive dick/being great in the sack is going to help. Unfortunately for you, you are nowhere good enough to get a hot chick, **** her good and therefore keep ****ing them, so your best approach is to **** an uggo who has hot female friends, and then get a promotion based on her recommendation.

Yes, women really dig a sense of humour but as said before, you currently lack that so that's another area to work on.

Women are going to want good looking guys with a sick body, there's a limit to what you can do about the former, but since you say you are 10 lbs overweight I'm going to assume that with your sense of selfdelusion that you should start working out and drop 25 lbs, that will make a huge difference for you on the physical attractiveness front.

As for being better looking, you can also do this via dressing and grooming yourself better.

Women really really dig confidence. Unfortunately it's painfully obvious that you have none, which is understandable. You aren't going to get confidence via waiting around, crossing your fingers and hoping to bang Scarlett Johansson. You need to lower your standards, bang some 5s (or 3s if you can't get a 5), build up your confidence, work out, work on improving yourself, and eventually you might have a chance at a hot chick.

Mickey Rooney got married 8 times, a bunch of them to hot hollywood chicks and he's 5'2, Salman Rushdie is short, bald and ugly but he was married to ****ing Padma Lakshmi etc. There are plenty of short guys who get hot chicks but it's definitely a lower percentage than tall guys. As a result, we can conclude that it's only the cream of the crop of short guys that do really well on the dating market so why don't you work on moving yourself up the desirability ladder rather than moping, complaining and hoping for a miracle to occur?

Have a date at 8 with a 5'11" really attractive girl from Belarus. She seems pretty cool (has been in states for a long time/went to college here), so hopefully that's fun.

Also, the girl I cancelled on last night added me on facebook and is really cute in recent pics. We're rescheduling for next week.

Really needed last night off for mental sanity, and I also slept 12 hours.

So what is match like in other areas of the US (I'm in Boston) that most people seem to use okcupid?

I've really had so much better success on match just in terms of attractiveness of girls... I feel like if an attractive girl is going to be on okcupid they're just going to get flooded so hard with creepy messages they won't last long, or if they're looking for sex they'll find some dude with a 6 pack.

I'm not saying it's not worth using as my longest relationship I've had from a site was off there, just that match seems to have way more attractive/willing to go out girls in general.

edit: or maybe more people are using match than it seems

Well, OKC is free and match you need to pay for a membership, so I'd guess that is why more people here are using OKC.

What's match like? Someone earlier mentioned not being able to tell if the women you're messaging have a paid membership and thus could even read your messages.

In my experience match is horrible. It feels like job interviews for marriage. Every girl is red wine/cooking/found herself in Asia. Terrible.

He had half the Muslim world out to kill him. I think that's kind of a turn-on to women.

Often they will put in their profile that they aren't a paying member yet. Likewise, sign up for free, check out the ladies in your area and decide if it might be worthwhile.

Like the women are more serious, and you'll get a higher proportion of religious girls, but there are tons of normal girls too who are looking for a relationship. I doubt you'll find many looking for something super casual like you might on okc.

My response rate has been higher on match overall, in large part because girls actively wink/message/interest you (because it's a smaller pool and they have better ways of getting girls to view your profile) compared to okc. I'd guess most accounts that are actively on the site are being paid for, and as mentioned a lot of girls with free accounts will mention it in their profile. Mainly, girls are way more attractive, and stay on it for longer.

So I like it a lot more, but I still use both because a bigger pool to choose from seems like a win/win. If $20/month is too much to pay for that then you might reconsider your priorities.

If I could only choose one I'd pick match with no hesitation.

I always remember match being more fun stuff and eHarmony being WAY more serious and more religious. Then again, back then, OKC and PoF didn't really exist with big numbers then.

Apparently, you can cancel your account and then they'll ask you to come back for a lot less than $20/mo.

Decided to hit up OKC and see where my message game is at...

I see we both love Harry Potter and goofy conversations. Excellent, when are we going on a hot air balloon ride to Prague?

Let's book a flight! lol

And on that flight, can you teach me poker trick chips? I haven't played in forever, but when I used to play, I always tried shuffling the chips, but I SUCKED!

It would be my pleasure to teach you some.

And beb, wouldn't a hot air balloon ride be more fun that a flight? All you need to do is bring a sunhat, flip flops, and ice cream

Jan 31, 2013 – 10:29pm
Oh, you want to ride the hot air balloon all the way across the ocean? That sounds like it will take like 10 years to get there lol. How about we fly on a plane to Prague, then instead of taking a bunch of trains to get from country to country, we do the hot air balloon then?

And when I was in Europe, they all looked at me like I was crazy when I wore flip flops or shorts. They're too fashionable for any of that apparently lol. Have you ever been?

I agree, thanks for talking some sense into my overly romantic ass.

Your plan is perfect. I am actually that only one in my family who's never been to Europe. It is embarrassing..

Thankfully, we're going to take care of that together. What's your name? Mine's Seymour

Jan 31, 2013 – 10:50pm
Aww, you need to go! It's great how easy it is to get from once place to another (especially if you have your own hot air balloon!) and the cultures are all really interesting and fun to experience.

So you do yoga, huh? You don't see that on too many guy's profiles.

And I'm Natalie

That's what I've been told. Which countries did you go to?

Yea, I just started doing yoga last year. I was pretty skeptical going in, but I actually quite enjoy it.

I was in the Netherlands for the most part for a study abroad program. Then I visited England, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland all either on weekend trips or during the month I backpacked after my exams were over. And I visited Israel for 3 weeks on a separate trip. Have you been anywhere interesting? Doesn't have to be Europe... I still have a lot of America to explore!

Nice. I need to start getting back into that. I used to do it a lot, and I actually taught it at a gym when I was in high school, but I haven't done it much in at least probably a year. What else do you like to do?

So, Love Guru, what's the best way to respond to her last message?

I've actually been to every state on the east coast and the midwest. Still haven't been to the west coast though. Had a blast in upstate NY swimming in the Finger Lakes, Have been ice fishing and snowmobiling in Minnesota I love nature and animals, mainly because I didn't get to see much of either growing up in NYC.

Jan 31, 2013 – 11:24pm
Nice! I've been to all of the east coast too, but aside from Colorado for a ski trip, that's about it unless you include trips I don't remember from when I was like 3-5 years old. Haha how is ice fishing? It sounds pretty boring to be honest, what's the appeal? Yeah, I love nature too. We did a lot of hiking up mountains in Israel, that was pretty amazing. Especially this one time, we got there at like 5am, I ran (or maybe jogged) up the mountain, and saw the sunrise from the top

So are you one of those scary people on the NYC subways? I was there in December, and I was half afraid to make eye contact with anyone lol.

It was mainly the continued references to the hot air balloon shtick. She seemed over the joke and you kept going back to it without adding anything.

She must be interested though because she persisted. Last messages are fine imo... just respond to her message, then either relate in a way that is open for response or prompt something new.

Beginning reminded me of the guy who tells the joke too many times:

*guy hits hr*
"damn that's a tater "
" i know he crushed that "
" booyah amirite guys "
Joke is now dead
" he really buttered his bread with that one"
Everyone is like yeahhhh and nods
"another stupid hr reference"

If that makes sense. If I was girl I would have been in the yeahhhh stage.
