Unless you are very tall or planning to go on dates barefoot, I think exaggerating your height by 1-2 inches in your profile it totally standard.

5 9 is not average height for white American men. I'm pretty sure average height for white men is 5 10.5.

How important is height with gay men?

Also, when gay men are dating, who pays the bill? Assuming split?

I have no reason to lie about my height. I'm 6'2" and according to BG (who is the authority in such matters) that's perfect.

I live there now but am originally from MA.

Graduated from high school in 03, North Faces were super common among the mostly white crowd there as well. I actually owned one back then.

6 2 is pretty close to ideal but I'd say it's a little on the tall side for Americans. 6 or 6 1 is ideal.

I think the same as with straight women -- taller guys look better than shorter guys (up to a point, of course).

I've been on one date so far and he paid, so I don't know.

Split is really standard for me, but I can think of a couple people I dated where we took turns paying basically.

I got a 2nd message back today that was more than just a show quote, something to work with. He's definitely interested, I am in!

For a straight guy I'd say 6' or 6'1 is ideal, but that's easy to say as a 6'1 guy. Gansta is in the majority wrt shorter guys looking for taller guys and vice versa, but I think it's pretty true with straight dynamics too.

So, you're 6'1'' and single, you say. And you like poker?...

Had to postpone date #1 with a girl because my sketch comedy group got booked last-minute for a show that night (tonight), texted her I can see her Fri or Sat night and it's been about a day with no response, follow-up text today, what should I say? Give up if I get nothing after that I assume?

Hopefully you apologized and explained the situation, rather than just a "sorry have to cancel, how about Friday?"

I explained that yes, would be silly not to.

Could you have invited her?

I feel like it'd be awkward to invite someone to see me perform as a first date, when I'd have very little chance to interact with them since I'm in the green room for the majority of the show. I wouldn't be able to talk to her until after around 10:45. I don't think I'd want anyone I'm involved with seeing a show I'm in until at least a few dates

I don't see what's wrong with ending your message with "you can come watch :P". She might be bored and have nothing to do, and if your show is good/you're funny then you are IN
