If she was trying to cancel, then you're SOL anyways, so it's better to know that now when the date fails/you notice her being weird in person than to think about it for the next 8 days, constantly second guessing yourself.
I thought about that, but I'm not sitting here over thinking it a lot. Her communication over the next 8 days will make it clear.

Honestly, I just got out of work, so the date would have sucked and may not have happened.

Not too worried about it. There's other fish in the sea and I am (and always was) entitled to talk to them in the meantime.

Talk about your banging with dates sure, but why you gotta post about other brodates when you know I'm gonna read it?

TR w CHB

She says "we" and my mind begins to focus. At the same time I'm finalizing plans with her, IG asks me to dinner. I tell her I'm trying to arrange a 3some, then say jk and invite her out with us b/c it's "we" and clearly not a date. She says have fun. Anyway, I get to dollah beer place and it's CHB and her 22 yo au pair friend from South Africa, let's call her SA, who I've met before and she's off the hook. Within 30 min SG calls me back (I butt dialed her just as I was done parking) and I go outside to take the call. This briefly changes to vibe with CHB and SA and they start asking me questions when I get back. I'm coy about it and continue to drink. Eventually I'm telling them my life and how I'm going to **** them in a 3some. They don't say no and SA seems intrigued, actually she seems really into me the entire evening although she has a bf and is going home forever in a week. But my heart is elsewhere so I get 2 numbers from 2 dudes at the bar - one of which continued to insist I "pick" the chick I want - and make it home.

Hey there

Well hello there, thanks for the note. I was going to send you a message but I was still formulating it to be something incredibly witty and charming! How's life in -? I'd never heard of it until I read your profile..

Good morning!
I actually live in -. Have you always lived in -?
Yea! It's Friday. It's been a long week. What fun do you usually have on the weekends?

Hi Jonna, I was born in -, grew up in -, lived in - and -o, moved back to - as a "married guy" and have now come full circle back to -! The cycle of life. And, yeah, this week was BRUTAL! I'm soooo sick of winter at this point. Let's run away!! Are you also a native Illinoisan (if that is what we're called?)?

What do I do for fun on weekends? Besides normal stuff? Lately, given the weather, it's been imbibing. But I like catching live music, good food, etc. Actually two weekends ago I went to a burlesque comedy show; it wasn't tacky, it was really cool. The dancers took their craft seriously and the comedians were pretty funny as well.

What do you like to do in your off time?

That does sound fun!!
I've lived in - for 12 years now. Moved up here from a small town in Kansas. All my family lives there. I like the area ok. Not a whole lot to do. I just got back from dinner and a movie with friends. We saw American Hustle. Ok but not great. Seemed very long!
On weekends I usually hang out with friends. Do dinners, movies, game nights. In the summer of course there is more exciting activities. I play softball, boat , see the family.
Do you play any sports?

Well, Jonna, I was a stud football player in high school. That was my Al Bundy moment! Actually, I did Yoga for the first time Monday. I'm friends with the studio owner and did an advanced class. It was awesome but it kicked my ass! Softball and boating sound fun. I'll be honest, I hate this site and rarely log in any more. I logged in to respond to you though. Gimme them digits and we can text a bit, maybe I'll call you, and we can sort out a time for a date.

I looked up the spot I'm going to tonight. It's got a very interesting cocktail and tapas menu. Unfortunately, it's a little too pricey for me. $10 or so is the cheapest cocktail, and tapas plates run between $10 and $16 or so. I'm going to angle to get to the bar next door that's owned by the same people, which serves $1 PBRs

Yeah I totally agree with this. I can't believe there was ever a stigma attached to online dating when it's obviously vastly superior to any other method of finding compatible matches.

Just got home from a weird first date, or at least one that has left me confused. We met at a train station, found a bar with some seating. I don't know the area well (it's in between us so convenient to get to but not too much going on). We have 2 drinks, it's going well, nice chatting but are sitting across from each other and my legs are getting restless. I suggest that we find another bar, but she asks if I know somewhere specific and I don't, so it's kind of implied that we stay there. Have one more round, then she asks if I'm hungry, and on the way we can see the hookers that work the street there (I had mentioned that I hadn't seen any hookers here in the last two years). So we head out, walk that way and I put my arm around her as we walk (she mentions that she is cold). We get to a restaurant, order sitting next to each other in the booth, things are good and upbeat convo. Then after we eat I try to hold her hand but she gives me the dead fish grip, no bueno. She seems really tired (it's after midnight at this point), rubs her eyes a bit, does mention that she had a long day with an exam and a job interview. We pay, head to the station, talking as we wait for our trains (opposite directions). It seems like she either lost interest or got tired in the last half hour of it. My train comes first, we hug goodbye and I kiss her on the cheek and do the extended hand hold as I walk away. Earlier in the date we had mentioned a couple of possible future dates, but as we said goodbye it was just "good night". I hop on my train and now am typing on 2p2. No text from her and I don't feel like sending one either. Confused

Sounds like a pretty long date. Unless you are specifically trying to hook up that night and think there's a good chance of it happening, I think it's way better to (artificially if necessary) cut things off sooner on the first date. Making yourself more scarce is gonna help build attraction on her end and ending the date sooner should leave some unfinished convo threads that you can follow up on rather than just sort of talking until you both run out of steam.
