Am I properly translating this as: "I'm surprised that so many people are upset that I'm calling them racists. That's probably because they don't want to admit that they are racists." ? This is truly amazing.

And I agree that amazinmets73 needs to start posting more convos or pics because I am trying not to respond to the race talks but just can't control myself.

Pretty much everyone is a racist. That's the point. Racism permeates all aspects of our society and life whether you are white, black, Asian, male, female, etc. Deal with it. Is this really news to everyone?

On second thought, I concede. The fact that the vast majority of white people in our society are repulsed by African-Americans in a society that has had a 400-year long history of racism clearly has nothing to do with racism or racial attitudes. It's weird, I know, but nonetheless it clearly has nothing to do with race.

Anyway, I was enjoying the thread, so let's get back to amazingmets (mis)adventures.

Getting back on topic, a general question:

How is one supposed to express emotion without using emoticons.

When I've needed housing, and been searching on Craigslist for a roommate, I learned to state before meeting a prospective roommate that I'm African American. I spoke to one of my sisters, and she said she did the same thing (She's a graduate of Yale and Harvard university). When I had a house and put up an add for a roommate, black people called me, and were perfectly polite and well spoken, but felt the need to specify to me that they were black before showing up. At this point, they didn't know I was black too. Why did they feel the need to do this? Because they know being black is an instant disqualification for many people as far as a roommate, just like it's an instant disqualification for many people as a dating partner.

How do you know it wasn't your hair color? Or height? Or weight?

Slavs aren't white either.

Anyone had better luck with cougars on other sites? I seem to whiff pretty hard on OKC, Match went a lot better for me (not keen on paying for stuff like that at the moment, though), and all cougar dating sites are just trash and full of spambots (not a huge selection in the Boston area either).

I probably could bang her tonight, but the issue. She's in St Pete, I'm in Tampa, and I have no way to get to her because I can't drive right now. (License issues)

It all depends on what your idea of perfect is. If you and I are kindred souls (and I believe we are) it will be!

So do you want to hear the image I have in my mind? Or would you just rather experience it?

This was last night, she never responded. Normally I wouldn't care, but she was hot. Would you ever send another message after a girl doesn't respond to your last one?

There just don't seem to be that many older women on POF. Eharmony, Match.com, those would be the sites I would expect to find older chicks.

Speaking of paying for sites, has anyone here ever had a POF subscription? If so, is it worth it? I thought about getting one, but I thought it might make me look desperate.

give it more time she's hot she gets a ton of messages and might not check messages often

after a week or so, go ahead and send another msg if no reply. she may have just forgotten you in the sea of people she has to weed through. if she thinks you suck, who cares, you have nothing to lose

very good opener. bad follow through imo. i smelled the desperation for her approval from here.

she responded very well to your first message because you took charge. you were going to lead her on this awesome adventure. and then you put her on the pedestal by saying the fun will depend on HER definition of perfect. she definitely loses respect after you said that and this is evident in her second response. your last ditch effort to continue the conversation is really desperate and you're basically asking her permission to continue.

it's all good though cuz you got the right vibe in the beginning. be aware of what it feels like and continue working on THAT. that is going to be your a-game. be in that state when you talk to girls and you will always be the one leading.

edit: but them legssss. i would lose my cool 100% too
