I couldn't find another thread about just stand up comedy, if it should be moved, so be it.

Just wanted to see who everyone likes. The usuals I'm sure will pop up, but any smaller comics or more obscure would be fun to find too.

A couple of my favorite bits:

No comic has ever made me laugh the way Carlin, Louis Ck, and Chappelle has.

Jim Jeffries, Bill Burr, Mitch Hedberg, and Bill Hicks are also great, but to me, a step below the top 3.

Also checked out Doug Stanhope last night after seeing him get praise from Ricky Gervais, and didn't find him too funny. Just seemed like a darker version of CK, without the perfect delivery that Louie has.

If you like slow, deadpan style deliveries, there's this british guy named Stewart Lee who's absolutely brilliant. Well worth checking out:

Paul Mooney on White people, UFO's, white acting and animals. Maybe the funniest clip of comedy ever.

Hmm, Im a big Stanhope fan, but I can sympathize with someone who doesn't like him. However, Im going to have to disagree with your comparison. To me, for all the obscenity, all of Louie's comedy has a certain morality to it (and I think this is one of its great strengths). Stanhope, who I do not perjoratively call a voice of evil, is nearly the opposite; his comedy is all about tearing down all social order. He is like a tourguide into the nihilistic abyss.

Mitch Hedberg for sure. I love Jim Gaffigan and Mike Birbiglia, too.

Probably won't have a better stand-up performance than "I'm Telling You For the Last Time" though.

Fan of a ton of those mentioned, but speaking of deadpan Todd Barry is hilarious (although this isn't his best clip; couldn't find a better one):

Another comic where the humor is all in the delivery is Tig Notaro:

Tig did a set right after she found out she had cancer that was pretty legendary. Louis CK released it on his website and it's definitely worth the $5.

Birbiglia is very, very funny, although a different style. I like "story" comedy.
