Match.com accused by FTC of using or allowing fake accounts to send messages in order to gain subscriptions. Shouldn't they have figured this out 15-20 years ago like the rest of us?

My bf of a couple years always keeps his phone locked and disables his notifications. Recently his phone ran out of battery while we were out so I charged it for him with one of those battery packs. When his phone restarted back up there is a notification from bumble saying he has a message that is about to expire. I asked him about it and he says he has no idea. I'm obv not happy and pressed the issue. He says he did use the app before we started dating but he never used it after, did not cheat on me, swore on his grandma's grave, etc. I've never used bumble before so I don't know how it works but apparently you get 24 hours to swipe and respond so he must've been on very recently? How likely is it that I'm overthinking things and being paranoid? How likely is it that there's some sort of phone bug that a really old message came up and he's telling the truth?
Cross posting the most relevant part of someone's post on another forum. What say you, Bumble users? Any weird experiences of old messages popping up from years back?

It's not worth trying to explain the details, but yes, given how bumble works (girls msg first, and a swipe could remain in the queue for years) it is possible that he's innocent / telling the truth. But I wouldn't bet on it (why is the app even on his phone if theyve been dating for years).

Plus the whole having the Bumble App still on your phone for two years is a bad look.

I've had swipes sit in the queue for several weeks whilst I haven't been using the app so it's plausible. Your comment questionning why Bumble was on his phone in the first place is bang on.

Yeah it looks bad but it couldn't it also have just been a dead convo getting resurrected by a girl? Those aren't uncommon for me.

Original post said “message that was about to expire”; that’s not a dead convo (on Bumble) being resurrected

Ive been on Bumble for ~4 years and never had someone resurrect a match older than a week or two, but sure, its possible someone brought back a 3 year old conversation

The probability of that being the case is like 1 in a billion though

Easy to play this off. "I deleted the bumble icon off my home screen when we started dating, and forgot it was installed. When the phone lost battery and was forced to reboot, all the old notifications came back".

She wants to believe, or she wouldn't have posted about it on a forum.

Still seeing the recent grad in the city, she squirts almost every time now from penetration. Due to rona we've been hanging out 1-2x a week and the sex has been pretty damn good. Her new place is up several flights of stairs so we've both gotten in better shape, her from good to great, mine from slightly above-average to good. She'd def look better if she put 5 back on tho.

getting some good responses on Tinder the past two weeks, mostly mid-20s, attractive full body shots and close-ups. Dunno if my ELO has gone up or what. Haven't met anyone off there in quite a while, wonder if the girls are that bored or finally looking to get out again. Drinks in the park isn't perfect but it's a start.

One prospect is a professional trader and we've had several replies each way, seems promising, a tall azn. I'll update if anything comes of it.

if you have shirtless pics youre prolly in the top 10% of attractiveness if youre getting decent number of swipes.

also i think tinder gold might be worth it for people unsure, at least for a month, on just about anyone. i think it does improve your %s

I've realized I'm a bit of a sex addict. I want my cake and to eat it too. End up semi-seriously dating and hook up on the side.

Every time I get in an exclusive relationship it falls apart a bit once I start wanting to sleep with someone else

I realized and happily accepted 2-3 years ago that I'm unlikely to ever stay romantically interested in someone for more than a handful of dates, and that I prefer my solo lifestyle with a lot of light dating to domestic partnership and kids. Think this has been posted about before, but the Savage Love podcast helped me out with this. I also think there's a large amount of people who would be better off this way, but get trapped in relationships or just think they have to for whatever reasons.

This goes out the window sometimes when I have a crush, but prooobably even in the biggest cases (which didn't work out) I'd be over it after 1-3 dates.

Haven't dated during covid either way.
