Aren't drinks expensive everywhere? In Vegas they are, unless you're gambling. And I figure you will look cheap if you don't offer to pay, moreso than suggesting a different activity. I think bars are a terrible place to try to get to know someone also, usually loud, dark, and smoky.

I don't want a woman who drinks much anyway, so I'm happy to give an advantage on them. I'm older than most of you guys though and looking for different things, so this doesn't come up much.

I have found that without any question the best overall quality women at least offer and more likely insist on paying their share.

Well of course, if a woman insists on paying her share they will shoot up to "highest quality" status.. they don't cost nearly as much.. great value. If they plead to pay for your share as well, place them immediately at the top!

Tough to make blanket statements b/c it varies wildly based on how liberal your area is and how rich the women are.

In New Zealand and France, I probably didn't even pay 50% of the total costs of my first dates b/c most of those women insisted and some even wanted to treat me b/c I was a visitor in their country.

Midwest USA however, I probably picked up the 1st date tab 80-90% of the time.

Mexico will be a whole different ballgame. I'd imagine it will probably be me paying almost always on the first 2-3 dates, but luckily the country is so cheap, it won't make much difference.

I'd feel a bit used if after 3 dates of paying for her stuff that she hadn't made an effort to return the favor somehow. Like cooking up a delicious Mexican meal or taking me to get tacos or something more in line with her spending ability.

This is a foreign way of thinking to me. Are they good value? Ugh. Pass.

I thought I remembered someone ITT doing a social experiment with a fake proctologist profile named AnalFister or something that turned out well. The point being that screen names didn't matter. If it's a name that can generate discussion and help get messages flowing that's a bonus but there are probably close to zero names that affect initial interest or response rate one way or another.
