Reminds me unfortunately of the type of thinking of a number of people from the continent my ancestors came from. That mentality sucks and can be scarring to children.

He should have written a manifesto.

Canadian strip club etiquette (don’t pay the dancers, befriend them so you can make the club your office)
Paying the whole bar’s tab to avoid an awkward situation
Staying in a hotel room instead of your friend’s place
Why one should avoid the embarrassment of driving a BMW, etc.

Greg's like this too. I think it's what prevented him making it past #4 in the power rankings. Chop has seen past his rouge of helpfulness and spotted his inner Henry.

That's because Canada is a country of mediocrity. Obviously can't speak for an entire country's population but overall there is a loser mentality. Further, it is a delusional / willfully blind loserdom that allows us to still be smug and judgmental of Americans. If you plan to be a loser then Canada is a great country to choose.

Gregorio you truly are a scholar. That reads like the writings of a stable genius since he is rebuffing the shamefully stupid “PUA” nonsense that was once popular here.

No. I've just seen quite a few documentaries on Detroit and its decline. I also spoke to a guy from Detroit originally and he was telling me how his mum still lives there and refuses to move because she loves it that much. Idk I just think it's an interesting city that I would like to see.

I have to bring the guards beer in El Paso to get unloaded in under 13 hours. Thought it was a joke the first time I heard about it.

Rexx - absolutely go to Detroit if you'll have a full six months to explore USA#1. The haters don't understand why it's interesting because they only have a freeze frame view of it, whereas you are correctly taking the panoramic view. Buy a vehicle and just meander around the entire country, then sell it when you leave. Make sure to get a national parks pass and stop at lots of those as well. Skipping the states that don't border an ocean or Great Lake is fine, but definitely make an exception for Colorado. Arguably Montana as well.

I'd go to Detroit just to urban explore the modern ghost town. Empty neighborhoods fascinate me. I even watch the YouTube videos shot in abandoned malls.

Rexx, I would advise spending some time in Arkansas. It's divided between the Ozarks, which is Appalachia lite, and the Mississippi Delta.

That would give you a taste of two distinct American subcultures in one smallish geographical area.

If you're a music history fan, the infamous Crossroads is just across the river in Mississippi. And that's all you need to see in Mississippi.

This.

And my favorite bbq sandwich joint (Abe's) is located right at the Crossroads. (See the Elite 8 sandwich thread.)

And Graceland is only a 90-minute drive north.

Lol. She's talking six months and she mentioned Detroit.

NY, SF, LA and Vegas would give her a warped view of Murica. She'd think it was all awesome!

It's what makes sense for the overall content of the post, and there aren't many "out of" expressions to choose from anyway.

ETA: Also, even if there were no other clues, it's still quite easy to see what you meant. If you're not familiar with English expressions at all, it's quite reasonable to think "out of habit" could mean "outside of your usual habits", roughly speaking, and this is how I'm assuming you thought about it, more or less.
Fabian clearly making a move to bump up his spot in the Power Rankings by copying Rexx's pleasant demeanor and general helpfulness. Shrewd move on his part. He'll be overtaking Banned4lyfe for the #44 spot in no time at this rate.
