However, people compartmentalizing the person from the music is exactly what enabled R Kelly’s behavior all these years. So I’m not sure that’s really something to aspire to.

All this time I thought it was a rich guy's lawyers and victims not pressing charges that enabled R Kelly's behavior. I don't wanna go down my wormhole of conspiracy when it comes to child abusers/sexual predators rarely getting the punishment they deserve in comparison to other crimes that cause horrible trauma.

lol at "when he was 17" as a defense. he beat up a pregnant woman less than two years ago while out on bail for robbing and pistol whipping a dude

maybe his music is good but he definitely isnt despite hundreds or thousands of mourners

Thanks Bighurt. And to the point above, you're right, even as a fan I can admit he had some psychopathic tendencies. It was clear in a lot of his early music. He seemed self aware enough to give change a big effort.

Instead of continuing to spread negativity to his audience of millions (alot being young people who look just like the average 2+2 user!) he chose to start spreading positivity. No matter who you are its never too late to start being a good person and influencing others, you never know who needs a hug or simple hello.
