I passed by Ray Liota in the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans a few years ago. It was packed with the Christmas crowd and he seemed in a big hurry. I immediately recognized him as someone I should know, but I couldn't place the face until about 20 minutes later. I kept trying to get my wife to help me recall the name, but all I could come up with was, "You know. That guy that scares the **** out of me in everything he's in." In my head that made us old pals.
RIP Sonny Barger. I see angels on Ariels in leather and chrome, Swooping down from Heaven (err, maybe not) to carry him home (apologies to Richard Thompson)
Might have to re-read HST's Hell's Angels.
Also, of course, I just assumed he was already dead.

Reason: ass + you + me
On one hand, I refuse to accept any notion that the iconic Sonny Corleone could be less important than George Michael.
On the other hand, I feel like any RIP thread is going to max out at like 20 posts.
This is me giving in and posting about the death of James Caan in a thread that he's bigger than. He could go into the thread title now in George Michael's place IMO.
