The Monkees singer and guitarist Mike Nesmith dies 'from natural causes' at home in LA aged 78 - leaving Micky Dolenz as the last surviving member of the 1960s band.
Simply directing The Last Picture Show should get him a prominent mention, but anyone who was nailing Cybil Shepherd in her prime really gets a boost in my book.
Took me a second to place him despite him looking super familiar, but I knew him best as Melfi's therapist on The Sopranos. He was good in that role. RIP.
Late to the party (poor taste?) with this one, but I hadn't heard. Tom T. Hall passed (not Monty Hall, you heathens) past August. Reason it's news now? COD was suicide :-(

Pour out a cup of watermelon wine for a great one.

Great songwriter ldo.
I can understand suicide at age 85. Not sure about shooting yourself in the head though. Sad ending to be sure.
John Madden and Betty White both seem to have been remarkably good, decent, and wildly accomplished people by any standard, but especially by modern celebrity standards. They were both treasures and their lives are excellent examples worth aspiring to.
Terribly sad about Tom T Hall's suicide, I'd heard he'd died but not that way, brutal.
Thanks for sharing the pics of the MaddenCruiser, Videopro. That's pretty cool.
I once happened to stop at Chuy's restaurant in Van Horn, TX (the middle of nowhere east of El Paso). Turns out it was a place Madden liked to stop, was on the "Haul of Fame".
But it's terrible all the same, and too young at 65. Saget always seemed like an awesome guy. He and Norm MacDonald were close; tough to imagine both suddenly gone within months of each other.
