I didn't realize that Kelly Preston was battling cancer, but she has succumbed to it. RIP.

Totally coincidental timing that I randomly rewatched For Love of the Game yesterday afternoon. Underrated movie IMO.

Wow, sorry to hear about Grant. Always enjoyed him being more of the 'science and analysis" guy on the MythBusters second team.

Regis Philbin has left us. RIP. Always found him entertaining.

George Michael is sort of an odd measuring stick for me in that I couldn't name 10 songs of his (between his solo act and Wham), and I've often just assumed that I'm missing some greater scope of his work, so maybe Regis doesn't belong ITT.

That sucks. He's probably more important than George Michael, but what are going to do? Just post Letterman clips and that Seinfeld ep?

Peter Green. Best known as a founding member of Fleetwood Mac.

However, did you you know - stood in for Eric Clapton in John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers for a handful of gigs. Eventually took his place when Clapton left the band. That’s enough of a career all by itself.

RIP

This may just be urban legend, but Regis was on TV more than any other person.

Homer Simpson. Ever heard of him?

Spoiler:
Regis can't be too far off. On Letterman's last show they say he had the most appearances by far.

I remember watching him quit and walk off of Joey Bishop's show decades ago. I guess he won't be returning from this exit.

Regis was a helluva tv performer, he could basically take nothing and turn it into something watchable, even if it often wasn't particularly edifying. David Letterman had immense respect for Regis, I think Howard Stern did too.

I've heard this story but it was a little before my time. I do remember Joey Bishop as a regular guest on Carson, I always liked him.

Yeah I came along in time for Dick Cavett, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin etc. but after Jack Paar, Joey Bishop, Steve Allen...

Bob Barker, Regis, and Trebek top tier game show hosts. Sajak can go **** himself. No olds need to chime in with Dick Cavet and Charlie Chambers being better.

Nobody was in the same category as Carson. Letterman is as close as there has been.

One of my favorite Regis contributions was in How I Met Your Mother, when they were looking for the tiny place that served the world's best hamburger.
