RIP Steve Priest of Sweet/The Sweet. One of this old's favorite bands from the 70s. Only Andy Scott left of the four. Fox on the Run. Little Willy. Ballroom Blitz. Love Is Like Oxygen. Blockbuster. Action.
Charlie Daniels probably deserves his own thread. Had a lot of success on his own. But not well known, he got his start as a session player in Nashville with Bob Dylan.
Wayne Moss was to be on the Nashville Skyline sessions but was unable to to make the first day. Bob Johnston, the producer, called Charlie to sit in on the first day only. Bob liked what he was doing so much he wouldn’t let him go. He ended up working on three Dylan albums and became a session legend.
There are some good videos on YouTube with Charlie talking about those sessions if you’re into that type of thing.
That's pretty incredible. Knew Charlie was the reason for bump and was OK with it, but also thought it was close. That rundown maybe bumps that up a bit, but Charlie Daniels is kind of like the George Michael of his era.
Saw Charlie Daniels when I was in college at my school. It was open floor and I was in the front row. I don't think he opened his eyes the entire show.
