Terry Jones, ex-Python and director of the legendary Life of Brian, died yesterday.

I'd sometimes pass Terry out walking on Hampstead Heath, which is at the end of my road. Terry lived over on the more fashionable west side, hence why we were always walking in opposite directions, I suppose. He'd been suffering from dementia the last few years and a thing about dementia is you sometimes start greeting total strangers just in case you know them (because you can't remember if you do or not), so Terry would give me a wave and a cheery 'Hello!' -- or 'Good morning!' at 4.30 in the afternoon. A bit after that, he became unable to talk, or go out by himself. Anyway it's very sad.
