Reminds me of a very special episode of Growing Pains where Mike reunites with Grandpa Ed via ghost form.

Caroll Spinney, the legendary puppeteer behind beloved Sesame Street characters Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, died today, December 8th 2019, at age 85 at his home in Connecticut, after living with Dystonia for some time.

Since 1969, Caroll’s kind and loving view of the world helped shape and define Sesame Street...
didn't know he had Dystonia until reading his obit but found that bit of info really sad. a man who brought joy to millions of youngsters as a puppeteer had a movement disorder in his later years that didn't allow him to control his muscles.

Just heard that Mr. Peanut has passed

He was never one of my top 100 crappy cartoon characters, but I am still in a bit of shock.

Terry Jones, ex-Python and director of the legendary Life of Brian, died yesterday.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51209197

I'd sometimes pass Terry out walking on Hampstead Heath, which is at the end of my road. Terry lived over on the more fashionable west side, hence why we were always walking in opposite directions, I suppose. He'd been suffering from dementia the last few years and a thing about dementia is you sometimes start greeting total strangers just in case you know them (because you can't remember if you do or not), so Terry would give me a wave and a cheery 'Hello!' -- or 'Good morning!' at 4.30 in the afternoon. A bit after that, he became unable to talk, or go out by himself. Anyway it's very sad.

Ban for off-topic posting.

(Kobe's death hasn't made me feel much, but he clearly beats George Michael.)
